Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers was a dry exploration of one of the greats during a short but incredibly prolific period of his life. Unlike Close to Vermeer this severely lacked wit or an engaging through line. The works were presented masterfully, however, with each brush stroke really coming alive!

Absolutely incredible to see the small but magnificent works (attributed to) Vermeer blown up with great detail. The description of his style and expertise is told in an engaging way, art history and attribution is framed in a high stakes, self aware manner so it isn't stuffy. #filmsky #letterboxd
