My neighbor has a ginormous prickly pear cactus out in their yard and last year I was able to scrounge what was left on and make some syrup. But holy moly I feel like I hit the jackpot with this years harvest! I plan on making syrup AND dye this year. Wish me 🤞🏻💫✨ #pricklypearcactus #pricklypear

Well after reattaching my treadles and retying my warp I'm *finally* starting on my second project! Now knowing more about how my loom operates, i'm grateful I pushed myself to work on this loom despite how janky it feels. I'll need to do more in depth repairing at some point but it does the job ok!

I’ve been so far removed from the queer community that literally in the last 2-4 years I might know 1 or 2 people if I’m out in a social setting. I’m grateful I know anyone still! But at the same time it’s gotten to be isolating. Wishing I had queer folks in my life that are closer in age.

This week was the first “summer” festivities I’ve gotten to enjoy all summer. I’ve finished my first weaving project (finally after 8 months), went to see MUNA (best show I’ve been to in so long) with close friends and got to the river for the first time this summer with one of my faves. 💕

Today I got a better feel of my loom and the process dressing it for the first time. Sure is reminding me how patient I have to be with it * and myself* 😅😭! I am however loving this color pallet and excited to incorporate some fuschia later on. 🥲💖 #weaving #warp #weaversofbsky #loom #fiberart

The very beginning of the kitchen towels I am weaving. The warp is a soft yellow/gold with a navy blue weft so far. Then I’ll be incorporating fuchsia along with the navy to give it more contrast.

Life is finally starting to feel normal. I could probably write a book about the last 6 months; and maybe I will one day. But right now in this moment it is the most calm, “normal” and honestly joyful time I’ve had in what feels like years. So grateful.

The last few months have been so long, I feel like I’ve aged years in that time frame. A lot of good has come my way and also a lot of harm. I’m nostalgic for something that isn’t there any longer. A grief I need to let go of but have a hard time doing so. Holding space for myself isn’t easy.
