People are gravitating towards the 'Nicolas Cage is a stand-up guy, fighting his corner against AI creative overeach' and that's great and how it should be, fine. But not enough is being made that a studio has AI waivers on standby for talent, in front and behind the camera, that you HAVE to sign.

I’m often suspicious of adaptations of Jane Austen, mainly because what Austen does so well is create a tapestry of nuances and in adaptation I often see supporting characters flattened into one-note caricatures. With that in mind, I was utterly delighted by Georgia Oakley’s #SenseAndSensibility

Netflix abandoned the project and it is now in development at Blumhouse as a live action film and an animated TV series. (JT4 has said Blumhouse is OK with them killing children, unlike Netflix.)

He left that project a long time ago. He couldn't get Netflix to make it properly. Then Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese had a crack at it and also had trouble. As James Tynion IV explained, Netflix wanted to change too many things, including the title.

One of the biggest myths is that men rape by mistake. Like, "Oh, they need consent training." But research is very clear: Sexual violence is not a mistake. It is an intentionally made decision by people who know they don't have consent. They just don't prioritize consent over things like status, power, domination, and sexual gratification.
For my research, I got a certificate of confidentiality from the National Institutes of Health, so my notes couldn't be subpoenaed. One of the reasons I call them perpetrators in my work is because every single person I interviewed confessed in that context. The first question I would ask them was, "When you received that email from Title IX that you were under investigation, did you know what it was about?" Every perpetrator I interviewed said "yes." If sexual assault were a miscommunication, you would be wondering, What have I possibly done wrong? That is not the way that any of them reacted because they knew.

One of my favourite aspects of the book design for the #WitchHatAtelier Grimoire Editions, is how easily they open up. There's so little art lost in the valley between pages. It's a presentational element that's sadly neglected all too often in deluxe hardcovers, but @kodansha.us nailed it. #comics

I do hate that a very small part of me kinda likes that the administration wants to rename "Artificial Intelligence" because anthropomorphizing it is exactly how we got to this point in time where people ACTUALLY BELIEVE that LLM's are conscious. Unfortunately, "Super Intelligence" is just as bad.

I mean after the topics discussed by Gabi about therapy in the Tribulation Saga, the Road Stories arc is a natural extension of that thematically. I think they make the mistake of confusing plot for story, and only recognise forward momentum, not inward momentum.
