Nixon chose to resign, was never prosecuted, and was pardoned by Ford. What’s the raw deal part?

This is a reminder Blanche still sees himself as Trump’s personal lawyer, even though he swore an oath to defend the Constitution.

And it is a privilege, not a right, for a President to serve in the White House. He is not media censor in chief.

Ruby Bridges was 6-years-old when she stepped into the history books. Bravely accompanied by her mother, she was the first Black child to desegregate an all-white school in the South. It was not long ago… Today is her birthday. She is still with us. She is 72. Happy birthday, Ruby Bridges 💜

Please don't overreact to the SCOTUS SAVE database decision today Page 6 of the decision makes clear that we are in the 90 day statutory window when mass changes cannot be made to voter lists! Yeah it's a shit decision for the reasons the 3 dissenters say but we can deal with it. More to come...

Imagine if he or any other Republican found the courage to say this. “I was wrong to stay silent in the face of all of Trump’s abuses. Voters deserve better. If you elect me I promise to stand up when Trump takes actions that hurt our communities.” Quietly scrubbing your website doesn’t count.

Texan: The other day I bought ground beef and it was $25 for 3 lbs. That's wild to me. A lot of people right now are struggling with gas prices. The government has money for bombs and ballrooms but isn't working to make food more affordable.

He is a fool and/or incredibly self-defeating. Most voters have no experience or frame of reference for “communism.” Further, the economic strength of China makes one wonder if the term “communism” has already lost all meaning.

If there’s a clear mission and set of urgent goals, a President can make the case for war and the myriad sacrifices involved. But it is grossly irresponsible to put our troops in harm’s way and burn through tax dollars by the minute for “no big deal.” Trump is stuck in a quagmire of his own doing.

Voters see too many elected officials seduced by the corporate-lobbyist-big money ecosystem. It warps their sense of what matters and dampens their vision for what’s possible. Voters want candidates who seem to authentically care about the real needs of people and stand apart from big money.

Our system of laws is built on an assumption that most people will seek to do the right thing and exercise a degree of restraint. There will never be enough police to monitor every stop sign.Yet most people stop on their own. Trump shows the risk of a leader with no restraint or respect for the law.

Trump v Trump is not a legitimate legal dispute among adversaries. It is the most extreme example of self-dealing; using his control over the Justice Department to further enrich himself and pay off his allies.

Because of his expertise and extensive track record, Fauci was seen as a credible advisor. But he was never head of the entire NIH nor Secretary of HHS, let alone President. He should not be made a scapegoat for MAGA frustrations with the American response to a global pandemic.

Trump’s fate mirrors LBJ in Vietnam. Johnson knew the war was not winnable and escalating bombing did not deter the North Vietnamese. But he was so afraid of being labeled a loser and giving a win to Communist China. So the war continues burning through tax dollars and putting our soldiers at risk.

I think the media covering politics assigns too much importance to ideological labels. Most voters are not schooled in political theory. They are choosing between specific candidates and trying to determine who has their best interests in mind.

I think the point is that a Democratic primary in South Carolina requires candidates to focus on African American voters. That constituency is essential in several swing states for a Democratic to win in November.

Asking for a friend….. were Trump’s victories in 2016 and 2024 fair and square? So all the illegal, cheating, conspiracy stuff was only in 2020? Then the deep state genius crooks laid low so Trump would win in 2024 but now are about to strike again? It’s all so confusing.

CA goes to great lengths to confirm the legitimacy of every vote. With so many people choosing to vote by mail, an accurate count takes time. We would like a faster vote count. But Trump’s allegations are baseless. In fact a Republican beat a large field to make the November ballot for governor
