On 5th Oct 1941 he was traveling with his ADC Capt George Amery RTR and 2 Brigadiers in a Hudson from 267 Sqn RAF. The plane lost power, crashed nr Abassia, and caught fire. The 4 aircrew and 4 passengers were all killed. 032
