I’m actually surprised by the lack of dedicated cycling infrastructure when approaching the velodrome from the east.

The CCCP1 episode is their best work. The production staff at ITV in Edmonton (now Global) figured out a way to make the entire episode look like it was via satellite at a time when such undertakings had to be done manually rather than simply adding a filter.

iPhone. Only because I don’t want to shell out extra for an action/dashcam. I just pop my phone holder to 90 degrees and off I go.

Idjit doesn’t realize that the EU operates in a single tariff: you can’t apply them to individual countries, you apply it to the entire EU.

The @yegbike.bsky.social annual Hallowe'en critical mass was on All Saints/Dia de los Muertos this year. We haunted streets, possessed the bridge & aced pedalling in the rain. @markiemoose.ca made a fab video, challenging conditions notwithstanding: www.instagram.com/reel/DQjGUsx... #bikesky #yeg

On the rare occasion I ignore range anxiety and my bike dies, it’s hell to pedal. RAD has begun to introduce passcode protection which prevents you from turning the thing on, and built in FindMy for Apple users, but still doesn’t prevent theft.

I faced this treatment most often in my uni days, but sadly it continues to occur today. Shout it out from the rooftops! This is the way I see it: I don’t care about the colour of your skin, the shape of your body, the type of bits in your knickers, your stage of life; if I likes ya, I likes ya.

So why do this now, given that I’ve been out since my 20s? Bisexual invisibility. Those of us in the bi community need to push back against the tendency of those in both the straight and queer communities to ignore, remove, falsify, or re-explain evidence of bisexuality.

At the time, all of it felt completely normal to me, and as I started relationships later in life, it continued to do so.

The first person I had a crush on was a boy in my grade one class. He smelled nice and he was gentle, not like all of the other boys. The second was a red-headed tomboy in my grade two class who taught me how to properly fall out of a tree (it seems that I discovered my types early in life).

So I did a thing. I’m sure this comes as no surprise to any of you. It certainly came as no surprise to my parents when I, at the tender age of 14, came out to them. Their nonplussed response: “why of course you are, dear!”

Though I’d love one of these at 83 and 103. Useful for cyclists and would hopefully stop drivers from entering the bike lane by creating a barrier. @michaeljanz.bsky.social this would be a thoughtful holiday gift…🎁

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1k/month. A year later, nearly half had housing. They also had fewer ER visits, nights spent in a hospital, and jail stays. The report estimates that this reduction in public service use SAVED the city $589k. www.businessinsider.com/denver-basic...

Denver gave people experiencing homelessness $1,000 a month. A year later, nearly half of participants said they had housing.
Participants in Denver's basic-income program reported having more-secure housing, though results were similar in the trial and control groups.
