U.S. Customs is blocking a *customs bonded truck* bound for to Campobello Island - Canadian territory where Franklin Roosevelt's summer home was - because it contains newly banned materials like milk. I believe it was Edmund Burke who said "A great empire, and little minds go ill together".

This is ugly to begin with, and is just going to get uglier. In the vein of "other than that, how did you like the play Mrs. Lincoln" at least the White House is on record that there will be no recissions this year. I am so glad I got out of academics... This is a gift link

Molasses? Exactly how much molasses does Canada export to the U.S.? Are there molasses tanker ships that dock in New Orleans? Or does Trump have something against Christmas cookies? After all, in the first round he did tariff Christmas decorations. It just seems pretty totally random.

No Tab Pete is at it again. That's OK, we in Canada are very happy with and proud of the brave people in our coast guard, who put their own lives at risk to save others - including U.S. citizens in Canadian waters. And there's no way one miserable drunk is going to change that.

I don't think I've ever heard of a museum of any sort just plain closing before, not even in Detroit in the implosion era. The justification sounds like typical university argle-bargle. At least they're preserving the collections.

It doesn't really matter what he calls it. The only way to get from Lake ONTARIO to Lake Erie is through the Welland Canal (unless Trump claims oceangoing ships can go UP Niagara Falls). Oh, and interesting factoid...the Welland Canal is entirely in Canada. Not that Canada would ever close it..😁

Toronto has 3 gay bathhouses and one all-gender bathhouse which are, let's say, not hosting bible study. It's a non-issue. People who don't approve are not required to patronize any of them. People who do patronize them are adults with agency and autonomy. That's how it is in the 21st Century.
