APMG has not been able to confirm that our jobs will be protected from AI. That’s unacceptable. Tag @marketplace.org in the comments and let them know if you think we deserve AI guidelines that protect our work.

Marketplace does some of the most accessible economics reporting in the US. The workers there know simple mathematics. Give them a fair contract!

Recent tax forms show that year-over-year total compensation increases for top management are nearly TRIPLE what our union has been offered. It’s hard for us to feel valued for our work when we see disheartening numbers like that.

Every single member of our union signed this petition we delivered to Marketplace management today. Their current proposals related to pay are unacceptable. We deserve better.

Tony’s been at Marketplace since 2014. He’s in charge of all things newsletters and loves connecting with Marketplace’s audience. He wants others to be able to build careers at Marketplace too. And that starts with getting a fair contract.

Henry is just one of the people who makes Marketpalce happen. All of our roles matter! We want compensation that shows the company values all of our hard work.

Mitchell covers wages and prices for Marketplace. And he’s well aware of how inflation impacts workers. At the very least, we deserve compensation that keeps up with inflation. Anything less is a pay cut.

Alex is one of several Marketplace employees that lives in New York. Many others live in LA. And it’s not cheap! The cost of living is going up, and our wages should too.

Sean is one of the producers on a small but mighty team that keeps Marketplace on the air. We deserve a fair contract now! ✊

Meet Sofia. She literally runs the show! …But management doesn’t want to recognize that work with annual pay increases consistent with inflation. We deserve better.

Alice is a producer for “This is Uncomfortable” and a Marketplace union steward. She was able to get a raise through a formal process we fought for during Marketplace’s first contract negotiations (2022-2023.) Now, APMG wants to cut all union members’ annual raises.

Meet Maria, a senior producer on “Marketplace” and a proud union member. Do you know what a public radio producer does? We’ve been at the bargaining table for months, fighting for fair compensation and AI protections for all Marketplace journalists. Stay tuned to keep up with our progress.

In 2020, the @marketplace.org staff decided to unionize. Six years later, we are in the middle of negotiating our second contract with our parent company APMG. We’ve come a long ways, but we still have progress to make. #WeMakeMarketplace
