I think Stewart is more like Anakin Skywalker than Yen's character, if Anakin grew up preparing to use the Force but was thwarted. Yellow represents fear which is certainly analogous to the Dark Side and there's the possibility that Stewart could be tainted by the yellow energy in his lantern.
