Also, making it easier for bad actors to create software that can do batch calling, spoof live conversations or installing malware on a victims computer. A criminal enterprise would have to pay thousands before - now a one man band can build it for 1/100th of the price.

Also, doesn’t a club have to send it to Dublin so it gets divied out to all the GAA clubs including the London clubs.

@cbgenealogy.ie If you can spare a moment, I'd love your feedback on my Irish surname cluster tool. I know a few exist, but I haven't found one that drills down to townland level and weighs each against its local population. downtheroad.dev/census/surna...
Screenshot of the "Where a surname lived" page on Down The Road, an Irish genealogy research site. The surname Duffy is entered with "All years" selected from census options 1821, 1901, 1911 and 1926. A summary reads: 33,183 records in 5,225 townlands of 20 or more people, across 32 counties. A map of Ireland shows townland outlines shaded in four blues by the share of residents carrying the name (under 5%, 5 to 15%, 15 to 30%, and 30% or more). The densest clusters are in Mayo in the west, the Monaghan and Louth area along the east-central border, and Donegal in the north, with scattered townlands elsewhere and few in the south. Below the map, a county list ranks Mayo (5,482 records), Monaghan (4,734), Donegal (4,468), Dublin (3,430) and Louth (1,817). A "Strongest townlands" table lists Inishard Island, Mayo at 17 of 23 residents (74%), Carrickloughan, Louth at 31 of 46 (67%), and Corlat, Monaghan at 65 of 98 (66%). A sidebar gives research tips: start with the darkest townlands, compare census years, check neighbouring townlands, and a note that a shared place is not proof of kinship.

New on Down The Road: Where a surname lived. Enter a surname and see where it lived, townland by townland, across the 1821-1926 censuses. Shading is by share of residents, so a small family townland shows as strongly as a big one. downtheroad.dev/census/surna...

I’ve been using it since 4.6 and I felt 5.4 feel dangerously close to being a black box. I feel comfortable switching on auto and it would prompt me at the right times but I’m worried new updates will be less transparent.

Texas is delaying its typical September 1 release of maternal mortality data until December 1, conveniently timed to be after the midterm election. Recent reports have shown a sharp rise in ectopic pregnancy deaths after the abortion ban went into effect. www.austinchronicle.com/news/texas-p...

A fair amount has landed on Down The Road since the spring without much announcement. The 1926 census, all of Griffith's Valuation, population trends back to 1821, a family tree editor, DNA painting and an iPhone app. Here is the lot, in one place. downtheroad.dev/blog/genealo...

It’s one thing for an AI model to find security weaknesses after given necessary access. It’s another to break out of a “jail” or bypass security. Reaks of a PR stunt more than Anthropic’s Fabel.
