My haul from Waterstone's Piccadilly before the theatre yesterday. The bookseller told me how much she loved the Becky Chambers novel when I bought it, just have others have said the same to me about the Wayfarers novels when I bought those.

New bookshelves! My IKEA Billy were getting very tired so ordered these from Shelfstore and installed them today (totally recommend, the quality seems excellent). Next job is to carry all the books back in🥵

Good luck! No idea how to deal with old vanish, I used Nitromors (evil stuff) on some 1950s gloss on which was very effective, but I understand why the tin was covered in health warnings ☠️.

Transplant patients, cancer patients and some other groups are at greater risk than those listed. I'm on B-cell immunosuppressants and while that qualified me last winter, I'm not sure it does this time.

I read all the Narnia books and had copies of them all when I was in middle school (as we called it in the late 70s/early 80s) No idea where they went. That school had a library which held several novels by Hugh Walters that sparked my love of scifi.

My landline is gone, I only ever got scams and people that misdialled (same number except a 2 rather than a 5) the local health centre wanting appointments, usually at 8 a.m. when I was trying to sleep in!

When I first turned the television on it was black and white and stayed black and white. Until one day it just stayed white all over so dad went to Radio Rentals at the weekend and came back with an 18" colour TV. Snooker got easier to understand at that point. (Just turned 57)

Whenever I happen to see football on the telly "accept the referee's decision" doesn't seem to be much in evidence. "Surround the referee and get in their face arguing" is common. Maybe the rubgy union rule where the ref can march the restart 10m back to the dissenting team's goal would help.

I'd (387) have a nice cup of tea and a sit down. Which is what I'm doing right now, but at work, which must be nudging 40C (Georgian regency era single skinned building, no AC, so it's like a greenhouse). We have biscuits, chocolate digestive to be precise, and they are kept in the fridge.

In a country where the population of the capital is under 5% of that of the country I'd agree. The UK isn't that, London is already around 15% of the population, everything is so concentrated there and the effect on (for example) housing costs is profound.

We were never in it growing up. Either ex-directory or non-directory, which I'm sure were different things, though I don't know what the difference was! My name, address, email and phone number were on the website of a club I volunteered for for decades.

This week due to other people being on holiday or paternity leave I'm in the office and not WFH. It's a beautiful building dating from the Georgian regency with single skin walls and we are on the top floor, so it's like a greenhouse, hot in summer and cold in winter, no air conditioning 🥵.

I was a politically engaged teenager and very annoyed to be 17 years and 50 weeks old on the date of a generaly election. I'm in the latter half of my 50s now and still support votes at 16, haven't turned into a "teenagers know nothing" type yet.
