A bit of seasonal cheer: these nostalgic and highly elaborate stockings I made for my kids. 🎄

My latest sock toy is finally complete: three headed hydra, imagined by 7yo and made by me. Entirely made from old clothes and scraps. Most of his decorations came from a pair of gloves (the fingers are his legs). He has a pipe cleaner skeleton which makes him poseable. 🐲🧤✨

The cloud people have a ship now which I made based on 7yo's design. The sail is definitely my favourite part. I love that we are building up a collection of toys together which have all come from his imagination.

Is your child also an agent of darkness? I've been making a stuffed toy family of skeletons and zombies for 3yo, who lives for the spooky life. 💀

Just for fun: I redrew 7yo's drawing of his sky castle. Feel pretty pleased with it, although 7yo just came in to tell me the rock golem is supposed to be holding a helicopter, not a hammer. "Can't you tell?"

I got my "good boys" worms embroidered on one of my old sweatshirts and I am so excited to be wearing my own art! Embroidery done locally Glasgow studio Mack & Rose, their commitment to recycling old clothes is incredible.

Sonic notebook for 7yo so he doesn't feel left out. I destroyed two needles making this which I think means I get to buy an awl?! (Ah the joys of gearing up for a new hobby!!)

I was sick of all our half-used activity books that I can't bear to throw out because they are too expensive, so I have turned 5 of them into 1 new book for 3yo. I find these things too prescriptive so I've just cut out the pictures I liked best and removed most of the instructions.

My latest sock pal Ronin Rabbit just rolled into town, ready to fight on the behalf of justice. Toshiro Mifune's eyebrows were my main inspiration here.

Sockgaleo work continues. I am crafting tiny little flames for his mane. They are embroidered with gold thread. Have I gone too far, I ask myself.

Did you know you can dehydrate foods in an air fryer at low temperatures? I tried making these dried shredded carrots, which I saw being sold at an exorbitant price in Taipei. Only took about an hour since they are small and dry up quick. The sweetness is incredible!

A little thread of ancient Roman curses, from the Baths of Diocletian. (A bit grainy, sorry, but they keep the lights low.) This guy really should have known better than to get involved with "malicious women".

Kids had broken every moving part of the Magic Wood treehouse so 2yo and I fixed it up today. The gnomes now have a canopy, hammocks, and working lift. 2yo really got into wrapping the leaf decorations.
