It’s my favourite thing to do with eyes although I think I made them too thin compared to my other ones 🤔, I also keep considering trying spirals (like confused/stunned) but haven’t gotten around to it 😬

Prototype complete! What is it? Why that’s a Feral Hex Vole, witches hunt them because they’re constantly popping up and screwing up spells. I’ve had this on my list of something i wanted to create for ages, I’ll do a much bigger proper version because this guy is only smol (selfie for scale).

Just so you know guys I started the prototype of a thing I’ve wanted to create for ages and it’s going so well. I took this picture so I could remember how janky it started. I’ve covered it and figure out both what I want to do and how to do it and it’s all coming together friends. Let her cook

I’ve had a streak of artistic failures over the last month so this weekend I took a second and went back to basics, I just created a little guy, that’s all, why, it was something I knew I could do and after creating him it helped remind me I’m not the worst artist to ever art.

Just a little guy in pink and purple fur

Civil war was the first time I ever really got into marvel and crossover events. It was the first event I read even the parts that I wouldn’t normally care for and it opened up my world hugely.

Finally watched Mandalorian and Grogu and it was a fun movie, loved all the little creatures although the Anzellan’s stole the show for me, they’re the coolest little puppets and I would watch them do anything.

Got to do some Blender practice this week, once I created these potions I was like okay they need a label and luckily I’ve been on a mascot kick so I did a quick sketch for the Potion of Dragon Charisma. Sure you can’t see them that clearly on the tiny potions but I know they’re there

You really need to see The Grambles in motion to appreciate them so I put together a video for y’all to meet them. None of them have names yet, I want them to be named by whoever adopts them. I’m not a puppeteer obviously but if you wanted to become one, these guys would be a great start 👀

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 11/08/2026

The time has come, I’d like to introduce you to The Grambles. This is my first set of puppets I’ve created with the intent to rehome them and they’re finally ready for release into the wide world. These folk will be ready for adoption very soon.

I nearly spoiled the big reveal so instead I’ve done a really cheap job of blurring out one of our new friends in the background and it looks almost like I’ve been blazing in here Here’s me sewing the tongues, next we turn them inside out, stuff them and sew them closed and sew the middle line in

2251

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 28/07/2026

This is one of the last videos before the big reveal. This is the stage where we put eyelids on over the eyes. After this we start putting it all together and I don’t want to show it all because then there’s no surprise.

So once the eyes are primed then we get to paint them. We’re getting to the pointy end of the project now. It’s all coming together.

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 26/07/2026

A new angle‽ in case you ever wondered what I look like from above. This is layer one of me applying primer to the eyes, I won’t bore you with all three layers but this gives you a good idea of the process. Is that a piece of wood with screws in it to mount my prints to, yes, it is.

2220

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 26/07/2026

I don’t have video of me modelling these but I I model all of my own stuff for puppets in nomad sculpt, the eyes are something I modelled ages ago and I love them for this type of puppet, it’s a great base that I can build a lot of character with, this is the time lapse of the print for the eyes 👀

Pinning and sewing in same session who even is she? Finally figure out how to sew the mouth in with the machine, I’m in my gym clothes because I had an hour to kill before class and was like “I can either warm up or do puppet work”

3270

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 24/07/2026

Dropping two videos on the same day because it’s just the same thing on a different puppet but with a different view. If you’re quick you get a sneak preview of what it looks like inside out once it’s sewed together and this is the first hint of who they become. I love this stage.

2140

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 24/07/2026

Okay so you don’t get to see me pin the bodies but I do pin them and then I sewed them, I used to hand sew them but I finally figure out how to sew fur. Special guests: @lukeacl.com cooking dinner and my puppy keeping me company as I sew.

2340

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 23/07/2026

Next step: sewing hands. I normally leave this until the end because I used to think it was hard, glad I had so many to do because I figured out how to sew fingers for the first time on this project (after turning them inside out they’re a little too small so I adjusted the pattern for future)

1292

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 22/07/2026

My tripod went flat halfway through so you’re only getting a teensy bit but it’s just the pinning stage so you’re not missing much. If you’re like me you think pinning is optional and no one needs it, I was wrong, you really do need to pin stuff even if it’s tedious, and it’s not that hard to do.

4291

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 21/07/2026

Sure he was guilty of some crimes and he had a crack force of child soldiers but you know what? Xavier knew how to serve cunt and he’s not given enough credit for it.

1142

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 20/07/2026

Stage two is cutting hands out, normally I leave this till well and truly after the bodies are done but I thought this time I’ll do all the cutting steps at the same time, then all the pinning and then all the sewing. Hands are much more finicky than bodies.

3321

Mardukian @mardukian.com · 19/07/2026

Started one of my biggest projects to date, four puppets at the same time. Why four? Because it’s too many to keep and it means I’ll be incentivised to get them rehomed 👀 This is the first time I’ve filmed parts of the process, so you can see what’s involved in the process 😬

My favourite thing to do is when I fail at a piece of art is to go and do a watercolour, because it feels like there aren’t as many rules with watercolours. You never get in trouble for going out of the lines. Anyway this was my recovery piece this week.

I have three nephews under five who are all obsessed with eevee and I wonder if this is because Pokemon pushes eevee and pikachu so much as the mascots of the franchise. It feels like fewer people are as obsessed with the starters as they were the OG3.
