My first methods paper #Award! It proposes a #mixedmodel based approach to #information #sampling and utilization ( #advicetaking, #judgment). It's flexible & overcomes known paradoxes. The merit goes to the driving force behind it @tobiasrebholz.bsky.social onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...

Today, I found a comment from #reviewer2 that was improving our manuscript tremendously! I was a bit surprised and I asked myself which changes are needed to make #peerreview *always* helpful. Any suggestions? @academic-chatter.bsky.social @academiclife.bsky.social @openscience.bsky.social

early stage #factchecking was working. we investigated the link between #media consumption and anti #vaccination attitude. use of #socialmedia was a protective factor! guess which channel had greater antivax attitude? hint: related to hypochondriasis pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC...

homophily explains why we connect with like-minded people. my research investigates the minimal cognitive processes supporting it. the sampling approach and information flows are sufficient to trigger homophily and the social structure it creates (e.g., small-world network). #psychology #sociology

When navigating the social world, you look for pleasant encounters. You just "wander around" until you find a nice spot to stop. If you are looking for something specific (someone to hire or the love of your life), your search will follow drastically different dynamics! doi.org/10.1177/0146...
