The katana engine decides automatically for DOM or SAX parsing. Both are tested to deliver byte identical results, edge cases also covered. A key speedup factor is the use of #DuckDB, which is one of the fastest available engines at all.

No comparison to other engines. But I was able to bring down processing time for a 1.2 GB set of XML files from about 1 hour for DOM single run to under 2 minutes by partitioning and parallel SAX streaming. Roughly 18x speedup, also confirmed by other testers in other scenarios.

It inspects the internal catalog structure of each XML file and builds a hash based manifest that is compared against the next import. That way you get a very granular update map. Even if new files have new timestamps, they are compared by content differences. Auto configuration, no API needed.

You have to re-import the FileMaker solutions XML. But the built-in Katana-engine allows to speedup the import for quick round trips by massive parallel processing and selective updates.
