My second horror movie viewing for October was Coherence! Movie was a little more science fiction than horror, but the tension building was really well done. Great ensemble cast, and a brisk watch. Happy I checked this one out.

October is here, which means it’s time to watch some horror movies. My first of the season was a rewatch of It Follows! Only the second time I’ve seen this movie, but it’s so freaking good. Maika Monroe is phenomenal, and I love the John Carpenter influence throughout. Can’t wait for the sequel!

Seeing Taking Back Sunday live is a religious experience for me. I’ve seen them over a dozen times, and every time I do, it’s like it’s 2004 all over again. I saw that band for the first time, and a switch in my brain got flipped, and it’s been that way for over two decades.

What’s a poster you had in your room growing up? I know Pat Lee is a bad person (though I didn’t at the time), and I know Dreamwave produced much better artists, but this image blew me away when I saw it.

Starting to vibe more with Resident Evil Revelations 2. It took me a couple tries to get into it, but I’m glad I picked this back up. Loving the Tarman-looking zombies, and the one enemy reminds me of something from the new movie.

I’ve often thought that a smart Detective Pikachu sequel would be Detective Clefairy. Get Reynolds and Justice Smith back with their Pikachu, investigating a strange Clefairy that was also body swapped. Get Danny Devito to do the voice, with some callbacks to the weird Pocket Monsters manga.

Was planning to start up Resident Evil Requiem after beating Pragmata, but I remembered that I started Resident Evil Revelations 2 not once, but twice, and never stuck with it. So, I decided to go back to that one instead! I really enjoyed the first one, so I hope this one grabs me.

The Games That Made Me This was really tough. Would have loved to include Super Smash Bros., and maybe Sonic the Hedgehog 2. And realistically, I could have so much more Pokémon, like Pinball, Gold, and Puzzle League. But I think these 9 games probably had the biggest impact on young Marc.

Pokémon Red, Super Mario Bros., Donkey Kong Country, Super Metroid, X-Men, Turtles in Time, Spider-Man, Super Mario World, and Ocarina of Time.

Went into Pokémon Home, because I could not remember if I had a Shiny Staraptor. Turns out that I do, so that one gets to stay in Pokémon GO. But I also came across my Staraptor from Pokémon Diamond. Apparently, it had a bunch of Ribbons, which is funny, because I barely remember doing Contests!

Today’s “comic I didn’t know I owned” is an Iceman & Angel one-shot from 2011. Fun done-in-one, which is what I’m looking for while my Unlimited subscription is on a brief break. There’s a weird continuity error, though: the two talk about Wolverine when this is clearly before he was on the team.

Iceman and Angel battle Goom, a monster from Marvel’s pre-hero days. Iceman says Angel should have metal wings, a clear reference to Warren eventually becoming Archangel.

After crashing and making me replay Jenovah and the first Sephiroth fight, I get back to the second one and died. Everyone but Barret was turned into a frog, leaving me unable to do any damage as I watched that stupid planet exploding cutscene 10 times. Glad I wasted like 2 hours of my night 🙃

A+X #1 was a miniseries that had Avengers and X-Men characters randomly teaming up. The first issue has Cap and Bucky in 1943 teaming up with a time traveling Cable, and it totally rules.
