The Post catalogued every reason people are angry at Stella Lefty. Not one word about the antisemitism. She’s hiding that she’s Jewish. Nepo jew. Israeli industry plant. Her nose. Henry Ford. Every reason on that list comes from her life. The one they left out came from finding out she’s Jewish.

Noah Kahan has no billionaire father and isn't anybody's nepo baby. He turned up in the same threads anyway. They heard a Jewish name and put a Nazi next to it. That's the whole joke. If this were about a rich man's daughter, it would have stopped there.

A singer posted a photo of herself in a record store. Jazz bins, tongue out at the camera. One of the most-liked comments underneath was a shout-out to the IDF. There is nothing about Israel in that photograph. I spent a month reading what came next.

"A good heart, or a good enemy. You're choosing one. We all are." The piece this line came from, written after my best friend's father's funeral.

He Never Hung Up
My best friend's father died this week. The rabbi asked how we want to be remembered, and I can't stop thinking about who we're forgetting how to love.

The rabbi asked how we want to be remembered. The old answer was "a good heart." I've been chewing on that since my best friend's dad's funeral on Friday, against everything happening right now. New piece 👇🏻

My best friend's dad stayed on FaceTime for twenty minutes after his 4-year-old grandson wandered off. He knew the boy would come back. His funeral was Friday. I wrote about what he understood that the rest of us are forgetting.

Game 4 in Cleveland with the boys. Sweep. 130-93. Brunson MVP. Clyde next to him. First time witnessing this live. Got to share it with my sons. Worth every dollar. Dreamed of this since the Starks Dunk hung over my bed as a kid. Four more wins. 🟠🔵

JAHM feels heavier this year. Our community is tired. We’re grieving. We’re watching antisemitism show up in places we never thought we’d see it. Grateful to have a Governor who sees it too, and who’s willing to say so plainly. Jewish Virginians are safer when our leaders refuse to look away.

5/ You win it with someone who works for it, fights for it, and knows what she's fighting for. In June, Texas Democrats pick their next chair in Corpus Christi. I know who I'd pick. Monique Alcalá. She doesn't look away. Stand with her.
000
Marc Broklawski @marc.broklawski.com · 20/05/2026
4/ That's the contrast. One of them sees the moment. One of them doesn't. Texas is sitting right there. The Senate majority. A House majority. The Governor's Mansion. All of it within reach. You don't win a state like that with a chair who has to be talked into doing the right thing.

3/ Meanwhile, a Republican-linked PAC has spent nearly a million dollars to make this antisemitic conspiracy theorist the Democratic nominee in TX-35. Monique is running for TDP chair and called on the party to disavow on day one. The current chair still hasn't said a word.

2/ I worked alongside Monique years ago in Virginia politics. She outworks every room she walks into. She tells the truth when no one else will. She's three steps ahead while everyone else is still arguing about step one. She doesn't need to be talked into the right thing.

Marc Broklawski @marc.broklawski.com · 20/05/2026
🧵 1/ There's a Jewish teaching on my mind this week. Lo tirah. Don't look away. A Texas Democrat running for Congress is openly talking about putting Jews in camps. Of course, Monique Alcalá was one of the first voices calling on the TDP to disavow her. That's exactly who she is.

Just walked out of a meeting with @mcclellan.house.gov on the Jewish American Security Act. She didn’t watch the clock. She asked real questions. She’d done her homework. I walked in hopeful. I walked out grateful. She gets it. @jfederations.bsky.social @jcrcgw.bsky.social

Honored to spend time with Senator @senwarner.bsky.social today. We walked through the Jewish American Security Act, full NSGP funding, and the personnel cap reform. He has been a partner for Virginia’s Jewish community for years. Grateful for his time and attention. Our safety is not optional.

Thank you to @repvindman.bsky.social for listening this morning. Two weeks ago, someone painted swastikas at Stafford High School. Walls don’t write themselves. He learned that on a phone. The Jewish American Security Act would make the platforms show their work. @jfederations.bsky.social

On Capitol Hill this morning with the Virginia delegation at the Jewish Federations fly-in. Two percent of the country. Seventy percent of the religiously motivated FBI hate crime targets. The threat is not a statistic. It's a forecast. Our safety is not optional. Our security is not negotiable.

A congressman wants a Virginia state senator denaturalized and deported over a bill he sponsored. Jews know this move. Your citizenship is conditional on the right opinions. Pointed at one community today. Another tomorrow. Name it.

Abraham Foxman spent fifty years asking American institutions to name antisemitism by name. He died May 10. Two days later, the Stafford County School Board met to address the antisemitic graffiti at Stafford High School. The Chair listed it. She did not name it. I wrote about it.

6/ The full piece is up on Substack now. It's about Stafford. It's also about the moment we're all making choices inside, what the ADL has called an unprecedented threat environment.   There is no neutral.

5/ Sixty-seven days later, she hasn't apologized. She hasn't retracted. And on Tuesday, she lectured her colleagues about social media amplifying hateful rhetoric.   She was describing herself.

4/ Why couldn't the Chair name it?   On March 9, ADL Washington, JCRC Greater Washington, and AJC Global publicly condemned a Facebook post she had shared as "textbook antisemitic tropes."

3/ A list and a name aren't the same thing.   A list says antisemitism is one of the things this institution worries about in general.   A name says this happened at this school to these kids.

Marc Broklawski @marc.broklawski.com · 15/05/2026
2/ The Superintendent named it. He used the words "antisemitism" and "antisemitic."   A Board member named it. She called the symbols "very clearly antisemitic."   The Chair didn't. She gave the room a vague reference and a list.

Three Stafford County Supervisors have now publicly addressed the antisemitic graffiti at Stafford HS: Maya Guy, Darrell English, Crystal Vanuch. The School Board, as a body and as individuals, has said nothing. Showing up shouldn’t be remarkable. It’s still rare enough to be worth naming. 🙏

Abe Foxman is gone. Three years ago at a Jewish American Heritage Month event, I got to meet him. A hidden child of the Shoah who spent six decades refusing to look away from antisemitism. Left, right, or center. The line he held is ours to hold now. זיכרונו לברכה

5/ Every Stafford elected official has a choice. Bring the resolution forward. Vote on it. Demand the schools teach what was on those walls, and that teachers and administrators are equipped to teach it. Or explain the silence to the Jewish students and families who are watching.
