I’d say behaviour is my biggest barrier to fun, I tried to do a lesson on heat insulation using hot chocolate and found the children constantly messing around because cups were too exciting (hadn’t event poured the stuff yet)

Reminder - Mr Poppy kidnapped 2 children and took them to America without their parents knowing, does a school trip to a hospital and overhypes the kids to state of frenzy - I watch that film every year and constantly fret over the number of things those two get up too - don’t go full poppy

Is it possible to even be a fun teacher when poor behaviour exists? Every time I try to plan something fun and engaging for my class a fight breaks out, somebody swears or a chair gets thrown and I ask myself why bother?

Like you mentioned, just fills me with dread - I want to be a fun and engaging educator but every time I make an effort behaviour gets in the way - a kid will cause a fight or resources get squandered or there’s no real work done

Hi all, teacher here - appeal of class dojo and prodigy is they are free for teachers and they are visual or games so children find them easy to understand - I get the need to make these services profitable but you’re right the upselling is pretty bad, I tell my parents proactively not pay for it
