If the big UK banks are making £1 billion a week profit, then they can afford to pay more tax. If they have a collective bonus pot of £25 billion, then they can afford to pay more tax. They've yet to pay back all the loans/quantitative easing from the 2008 financial crash.

If any industry - finance, energy, fuel etc - is making excessive profits through price or interest rate rises rather than through increased productivity they should be paying higher taxes. I've always disagreed vehemently with excessive bonus payments rather than increased salaries.

The decision to interfere with the military satellites helping Ukraine attack and defend itself from Russia has been attributed to the US Gvt after Musk said that he couldn't take that action himself. Zelenskyy rightly furious, feeling betrayed and saying that the US has sided with Putin.

I've got a couple of friends who are having a really tough time of it at the moment: one whose husband is in palliative care; the other whose husband suffered a major stroke and is in the process of being admitted to a care home permanently. It puts everything else into perspective.
