I saw an infographic a couple years ago about how to remove source identifiers from links and why it's important, but I can't find it again and too many people I know are sending me links with them so here's an infographic straight from the oven

Header text: "HEY YOU! YES YOU! TAKE THIS SHIT OUT OF LINKS!"

This is followed by a couple example urls, with a red square highlighting the sections with source identifiers. The rest of the text is as follows:

Source identifiers are used to track your activity on a site. Where you came from, what device you use, and even who you talk to. Whether it's written clearly in the url or tied to a random string of characters, it's assigned to your activity.

When you send a link containing a source identifier to somebody and they click it, it signals to the website that you two are connected. And that data goes right back to the website operators, and thus their advertisers.

Whenever you select "share" or "copy link" on a social app or website, it creates a link like this. If you give even the smallest shit about online privacy, it's important to remove them. Everything after the "?" symbol can be removed without issue, especially sections starting with "si=" or "utm_source="

This dumb 🏈 really tried to toss out a meaningless 'I love you' after betraying Trina & her family as if a declaration is a get out of jail free card?? Not even Bory was this clownish and disrespectful. He at least got Trina a nice dinner first. I hope he sashays his way far away pls. #FreeTrina

God, look at how much #Sprina took care of *each other*🥹 Look how gentle and perceptive they were. They had such reciprocity and resonance, the one person with whom they could be vulnerable and find a soft place to land when they were hurting. I miss them. 💕

They don't want to hear that Obama has the highest record of deportations and is nicknamed the deporter-in-chief or how he funded ICE into the monster it is today. They'll ignore & reason away that he dropped 3 b*mbs every hour of his presidency on civilians & how he brought slavery back to Libya

🎯🎯🎯 Yes, he’s just saying the quiet parts out loud. Here, people build heroes & saviors out of presidents and refuse to look at the factual records of their terms in office. They're stuck in bipartisan identity politics and refuse to see how their fave presidents brought us here.

Since WWI, the US has framed socialism & communism as ideological boogeymen, enemies of freedom and democracy. We've used them as excuses to topple and destroy nations. Yet here we are, a capitalist country with a fascist dictator, an unelected billionaire class and mass prisons/detention centers.

All that effort to defy logic, lean into awful ideas, deny Trina stories fans (+even the actress) pitched so you could shove 🦈 in front as Thee Only YA Lead Heroine only to be back telling the exact same flop storyline she had before, now with an older, more raggedy blond, obsessing over Sonny? 💀

I hated the Spencer comparisons as they were not fair. But this? This is about the story and the character. The surgery didn't even restore his career and Curtis would have given him a job so why is he so far up Drew's ass? Also, I saw a clip of her having to pursue him for a goodbye kiss and it
