Gordon and Cain trying to hold on to happy memories and realising they're millions of years old and don't have any happy memories beyond being with their partner. #talesfromcraftymanor #writingcommunity #booksky #authorsky

Gordon: getting tortured Cain: I said I hate music but here's every 80s-90s music track I can think of whilst I'm depressed #talesfromcraftymanor #writingcommunity #authorsky #booksky

Does anyone have any recommendations for hobbies/things to do away from writing whilst I'm recharging my muse? #writingcommunity #muse #creativewriting

I love it when bots repeatedly ask you if your wip is edited, like you're not a self-published author who does everything themselves #writingcommunity #talesfromcraftymanor #booksky

Gordon: Regrets, I’ve had a few, but then again, I’ve lived millions of years and we’d need like seventeen different religious books to even touch most of them. #talesfromcraftymanor #booksky #writingcommunity

Being a writer is seeing your work and going "I can make this so much darker" like it's a personal challenge of mine #talesfromcraftymanor #writingcommunity #booksky

I had some thoughts today, thanks to family friends visiting #talesfromcraftymanor #writingcommunity

I think it's really eye-opening for me, the amount of people in real life, including family, that have walked up to me and asked me why I haven't put my real name on my book, they ask me who Athena Shepard is, and I'm just there like "Have ya'll never thought or heard about using fake names/ names you prefer to go by??" how is that such a wild concept for some people?

Hello everyone, hows things going? I'm slowly working on book 5 of TFCM. #talesfromcraftymanor #writingcommunity #booksky

I'm officially at the age where I need things I'm working on, or reading ect, propped up beyond eye level because my back fucking hurts

Athena Shepard @manorofshepard.bsky.social · 15/09/2026

I don't know why but Cain has started dropping a lot of song references in his chapters in book 5 and I don't know where it's coming from XD #talesfromcraftymanor #writing #writingcommunity

Does anyone have any ideas for creative projects I could do writing wise, as a break from my novels? I find when I'm not writing or doing diamond painting, my mood just drops and I feel depressed and I'm just sitting here like "wtf is wrong with me?" #writingcommunity #writing #creativewriting

Athena Shepard @manorofshepard.bsky.social · 12/09/2026

I could potentially start book 5 of my TFCM series in the next few days If I wanted to, and i wanna know where this energy has come from. 4 books in a year is way more than I've ever done before #talesfromcraftymanor #writingcommunity #booksky #writing #creativewriting

I'm still unsure whether to outline my wips when I ignore the outline most of the time anyway xD #writing #writingcommunity #booksky #talesfromcraftymanor

Athena Shepard @manorofshepard.bsky.social · 11/09/2026

I keep being torn between doing bullet points of plot points for each novel, which im doing, and also doing a full on outline, when most of the time when I'm writing, I end up ignoring the outline anyway and letting the characters and everything else take over and now I dont know what to do XD

That's actually really impressive!

Hiya Christie! Hope you're okay and doing well

You could always split them up into volumes/several books so like book 1 could be a-h or something

110

Athena Shepard @manorofshepard.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Oooh thats impressive! How long did that take you?

110

How long do your books take in months/years to create?

100

Athena Shepard @manorofshepard.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Equally frustrated in advertising my books and myself when all the replies i seem to get are bots and scammers who are "beta readers" or "publishers" of some kind

This is really good, how often do you work on this story

I find that I outline and as I get some of the main outline done, my characters are like "We'll take things from here!"
