De conclusie is dat veel witte academici (er worden voorbeelden genoemd van zeer ernstige fraude) er vaak mee wegkomen. Arday heeft plagiaat gepleegd hier en daar, maar de enorme media-aandacht en het feit dat de zaak misbruikt wordt voor racistische propaganda geeft een bittere nasmaak.

De meeste boeren hebben al jaren weinig vertrouwen in de politiek. Er is ook alle aanleiding voor het omgekeerde: geen vertrouwen te hebben in de meeste boeren en aan hen gelieerde organisaties. Jarenlang hebben ze maatregelen getraineerd om het milieu voor mens en natuur te verbeteren.
