Yes a lot of that is happening. And syntax highlighting in parallel workers, applied on demand as files approach the viewport, height calcs for accurate scrolling and much much more. The amount of data to be crunched for this page would take minutes initially before even the DOM woes. JS=hard mode.

I've spent the last weeks "completing" the issue/patch pages and particularly the review page and UX. Reviewing a #radicle patch feels damn good now. Can casually handle diffs of 10K+ over 100 files. Keyboard nav. I splurged some time on a zen mode (🫶). The forge of my dreams.

After years of this question running in my mind I finally took the leap to build my dream forge (using @nuxt.com!). I call it Grove. It's P2P and totally abusing every latest modern Web API. I started writing about it here maninak.com/blog/git-is-... I'm grinding to open source it any day now.. 🥵

Small things on stats.radicle.at that add up: signatures verified against Radicle keys, UX tuned for phones, touch and a11y, click-to-copy IDs, charts that copy as ready-to-post images, no trackers or cookies. One person, 391 commits since June, for the #radicle network.

The #radicle network right now: 15,978 public repos, 1,899 nodes seeding them, locatable nodes in 32 countries. The average repo is replicated by 8.8 nodes, and only 66 by a single one. All of it, ~121 GiB, still fits on a laptop. stats.radicle.at

Fewer bots on #radicle: 31 bot and CI identities were active in the 3 months to Sept 2025, 9 now. Their issues and patches fell to a fifth of their peak. 🤖 People went the other way: 125 then, 350 now, and their issues and patches from ~500 a month to nearly 1,800 in September.

Anyone can define new kinds of collaborative objects (COBs) on #radicle, beyond issues and patches. Here are the 20 COB types seen so far. Green is Radicle CI. Pink is radicle-artifact, for releases. 33 repos have published 89 releases with it since March.

New on the stats.radicle.at dashboard: #radicle CI. Charts of every CI job my seed has seen, month by month, and how many repos and nodes use it. 15,501 CI jobs since June 2025, for 284 repos, run by 105 nodes. May was the busiest month yet, at 1,711 jobs.

Watch your #radicle repo catch on. Each repo page charts how many nodes seed it over time, and the Compare page can put up to 6 on one chart. In the last 30 days hayari went from 15 to 25 seeds. stats.radicle.at/compare?r=rad:z5GnP9asXmnYf2i9TG2LcV2hvC2W,rad:zG1sMXgSjSSoAZEjRqRuGSAKvYgH

And here's the rest of it. 🤞 To be fair, not much, if anything, would have changed had the vulnerability been detected sooner. The team would have been between the same rock and a hard place, just a few months earlier.

With everything happening I forgot to make a little announcement: I've been building Grove, a peer-2-peer code forge (think GitHub, the whole thing) running in a browser tab. Plus a bit of VS Code thrown in for good measure. I've posted the first of a series about it 👇 maninak.com/blog/git-is-...

Sure, this is a big hit for the #Radicle brand and a morale hit for the team. But if they keep their head down and grind to the other side, Radicle 2.0, with all needed breaking changes and its existing great tech, could come out stronger and become the home OSS always deserved.

This summarizes my feels today regarding the #Radicle disclosure. For no legitimate reason I've been having a sense of guilt and escapism since the vuln is public. I couldn't put my finger on it. Now I know it's because I feel for the devs. Member changes, short on hands, hard work. Then this.

The cat's out of the bag: what I discovered is that #Radicle has a major security vulnerability. That's a first of that magnitude and a learning experience for me. I hate everything about it, but shit happens. Better now than later. I wrote the whole story at 👇 maninak.com/blog/radicle...

One of the saddest facts of developing software with love, craft, and attention to detail, is that realistically the best compliment you can expect when doing user testing is them going like "ok, I tried it, it works". That's it, no complaints at all. Ain't that rewarding AF?🥲
