Assembled the Reaper toolhead for my Voron 2.4 3D printer overhaul tonight on stream. The @polymaker.bsky.social ASA colors look great on this design. It features a WWG2 extruder using @ldojason.bsky.social parts, and will have a DropEffect NeXt-G Fiber hotend when that arrives. #3dprinting

Yesterday, @josefprusa.bsky.social noted that Prusa has shipped machines from Prague to the USA & back as a test of packaging & the machine. I’m sure plenty of companies do this, but it’s a fun insight into how a company can improve. Photo 1 is his own test unit in retail packing for his inspection.

Yes, and no. I do realize that is a thing, but it treats that object as a part of the 1st layer, so walls follow it (see photo). It also has no brim gap so they are harder to remove and you have to manually place them all. Mouse ears are a simple setting switch away and remove easier / cleaner.

Tore down my Voron 2.4 3d printer on stream tonight! Time to rebuild it, BETTER! It will be getting CNC components from Chaotic Lab and some new electronics while we are at it. I need it back up and running asap though, so look out for assembly streams SOON.

Had to tear down my @godox.bsky.social VL300 led light. Look at that cooling! Intel grade… Only 1 fan was working. Seems to be a bad thermistor as best as I can tell. Have it working now, I hope. $600 light, so sure hope it keeps on ticking. Can’t afford to replace it right now…
