Well worth a read: www.hyperdimensional.co/p/on-the-loose

Text as follows:
"The first self-sovereign AIs may “escape” while undergoing training or testing by an AI company (I hope not), or they may be production-grade deployments that break free from their computing environments and acquire the resources needed to be self-sustaining. They may even be deliberately released. I have met people, some of them quite well-resourced, who have told me that it is their intention to deliberately release swarms of self-sovereign agents into the world, either as a kind of performance art or out of a fanatical commitment to the notion that it is impossible for digital computation—mere mathematics, they would have you know—to ever be “unsafe.”"

Borrowed from @KasperBenjaminReimerBjørkskov on LinkedIn and yes, it is So we need new stories of agency, connection, sufficiency, to counter those of scarcity, separation and powerlessness. #Thrutopia

An image of a man at a podium, seen from behind, with a bearded workman in overalls shoveling packs of $$ into him through an open door like a furnace door in his back.

Above "The far right is not a revolt against the system. It is the insurance policy the rich buy when democracy threatens their wealth' with the signature Kasper Benjamin Reimer Bjørkskov below.

You'll be glad to know that here in Europe, it doesn't look like that...

As much as I love what Zohran Mamdani is doing, I can't stress enough that it's literally just his job. That's what every mayor in every city is supposed to be doing.
The fact that this is an anomaly should enrage you.

There are NO non-radical futures and anyone who tells you we can tweak things a tiny bit and go back to some kind of utopian version of the '50s, is lying. How would YOU design a future that works for the generations that come after us? for @rupertread.bsky.social and @zackpolanski.bsky.social

Copy of a tweet from @papa_rosh

"anyway, I think an apt way to think about climate change is that there are "no non-radical futures." either we change everything or the earth changes everythign for us. anyone selling you 'realistic' incremental change is performing the work of charlatans and denialists."

New Crop Circle near Weyland's Smithy don't care who makes them or how, they're beautiful Though if I were an industrial farmer, locked in the death cult of predatory capitalism, I might be quite miffed at the loss of income.

A crop circle in the shape of an 'Eternal Knot' (nope, no idea how to describe that differently other than that it's interlocking shapes a bit like a Greek knot, but clearly different) inside a circle, inside a circumferential circle, in a field of corn.
