Was amazing to have all corners of the tech scene in Manchester coming together and hope to run more events like this in the future.

We had more than 30 people from all different backgrounds, programming languages and skill levels come to learn about open source tech and either dive into their first issue, build on their existing skills or support beginners with their veteran knowledge!

Last night we put the pitchforks down and combined the powers of PyDataMCR, Manchester Gophers, Queer in Tech & Rust Manchester to come together this Hacktoberfest and dive into the world of open source development. Massive thanks to Fatsoma for sponsoring this event from venue to food!

Big thanks to @www.jvt.me for running the "What story does your dependency tree tell you about your org?" Great tooling on how to manage dependencies and surface up actionable data using dmd! You can catch this workshop at GopherconUK if you are attending!

We couldn't make our resident Gopher gift maker make his own speaker gift! So his partner sewed him a Gopher plushie! Isn't it adorable?! Thank you Latifah!

The April meetup is a Go! Our speaker Sam Burns will give a talk "The Strengths of the `weak` Package". Stop what you're doing, even if you're collecting the garbage, defer that to later! Don't panic; get funcy and sign up! We promise it won't be a weak one! www.meetup.com/golang-mcr/e...

Sorry @sargath.bsky.social, unfortunately we don't live stream the meet up at the moment, it's an in-person event only.

For those unable to get a space, unfortunately due to venue security we can't host over capacity, so please don't turn up as we will have to turn those without RSVPs away!
