Morning 20 mile ride through Acadia. Lobster Melt for lunch. Ol’ Buzzbark couldn’t pull off the afternoon EDH game. Ended the night with homemade chilli dogs (nowhere near a Tastee Freez) and mellowing by the fire. Sorry, no pics of lobster melt, Buzzbark getting slaughtered, or the chilli dogs!

My last 3 60-card casual decks are coming apart today. For me, this is the worst part of Commander’s popularity. I prefer those games, but not even my play group will play it any more. 2 Brawl and 2 Clover decks are all that is left.

Thursday Night Magic was fun! Ragost did nothing. Confirmed its status on the chopping block. Grenzo was outstanding, playing perfectly. Every card did exactly what was needed. A great reminder why it is one of my all-time favourite decks! And we had ice cream cake for my son Spencer’s birthday!

0-2 in Magic tonight. Emiel and Avenger of Zendikar put over 100 plants in play but a 25/26 Gollum Scheming Guide goes unblocked to take me out. Gale blew hot air and didn’t do a damn thing. That deck needs the drawing board. Thankfully the friends were good. Always a good gathering!

My Atla Palani build has 10 Gates in its mana base. I always thought it was 11. On Thursday, I almost won with Maze’s End, but someone was able to destroy a Gate just before. I’m adding Gateway Plaza to the deck for just a little backup. I’ll be watching future sets for a couple more gates!

I remember crying/laughing with a friend when the first Garfield comics came out in the 70’s. I remember getting every book through the 80’s. I am the target audience for Garfield Secret Lairs. I can’t decide if the Secret Lairs are the dumbest things I’ve ever seen or something I love.
