The site has been extensively redeveloped. The original Brewers House has been preserved and modernised while retaining as much as possible of the original features.

I know that the Ardee St. brewery closed in the 1930's, and was bought and resold in the following decade. I'm related to that final purchaser, whose family still owns it today.

Some discussion of the UK rejoining the EU on #newsnight this evening. 15 minutes of talking and the UK's only land border was completely ignored.

I think the US is almost unique in offering full-term fixed-rate mortgages. Certainly in most of Europe you can only get a fixed rate for 1, 3 or 5 years on a standard 20/30 year loan. Even 10 years is rare.

Former NUI and Trinity voters DO need to register for the new constituency - many don't know that so do please spread the word! And we also need tp keep pushing for real Seanad Reform that gives everyone a vote!

I suppose it's one way of cleaning up the register, but explains the low electorate. I've just registered in any case. Thanks.

Are people who were previously registered in the NUI/TCD constituencies automatically registered for this new constituency?

That's good, thanks for the update. It's a live issue here in Ireland. DCs already consume about 25% of generation on an islanded grid with minimal import capacity. Most DCs announce that they'll run on renewables, but in reality they're just signing agreements with existing infrastructure

Key thing is that it should be new clean power. I see that Google announced today that it's planning to buy half the power from an existing nuclear plant in Finland.

It looks like the Kilsallaghan one is connected to the grid at the 110kv substation in Ballymacarney, which is in Meath. You can see various solar farms in the area connected to Ballymacarney via 33kv cables here: openinframap.org#12.69/53.463... The airport one may be for DAA use.

"Hello barkeep, can I have 2.2727272e-7 Olympic swimming pools of Guinness please"
“We’re going to double the capacity of Guinness during the course of this plan [by 2031],” said Lewis, adding that the future of the brand was “very bright”.

Production capacity is slated to increase from 8.2m hectolitres (mHL) today to 15.7m by 2031, an increase equivalent to 300 Olympic-sized swimming pools of the black stuff a year.

I was wondering if they have their own wells, but there don't seem to be any entries for data centres in Dublin or Meath in the EPA's LEAP register: leap.epa.ie So it's likely that whatever water they are using is being taken from the mains.
