Started priming my #InifinityN5 minis from #OperationSandtrap & Beyond last night while getting some grilling done for dinner .. I made it all of two minis before my can of primer was completely empty XD Guess I'll go get more to prime the rest! #miniatures #painting

Heya Folks! Haven't been good about painting lately--sorry about that! :'3 I have, though, been playing a bit of #TrenchCrusade! :D I played a game last night--my Dirge vs. a friend's Prussians. It did not go well for Dirge. XD

Haven't done a ton of painting since coming home from the beach but I did paint up these Black Grail ducats for Trench Crusade that a friend printed out for me :D They work great as activation tokens! #trenchcrusade #miniature #painting #blackgrail

Long time no see, BSKY! I've had a bit of a busy month--lots of stuff around the house and recovering from surgery. So! Haven't gotten any painting done o3o;; I've got some new models I'm putting together for priming so hopefully I'll have stuff to show off soon! :D :3

One more pic since bluesky seemingly didn't post all of them in my previous post. Here's my flappy rocketmen friends! #miniature #painting #warmachine #crucibleguard

Hmm. Looks like I was blocked by that Why person. Since they're doing a blanket block of all anti-ai folks I see this as a positive :3 I don't recall ever putting a stance on ai on my bsky here but I absolutely do not support ai or its associated slop :3

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 21/04/2026

Hek! I haven't posted any of my projects in ages :O I have been painting, though, so I have things to share! Just gotta get some basing done & I'll get some glamour shots up here :3 Got started into a new Journeyman's League for #Warmachine! Currently playing (& painting!) #CrucibleGuard

Finished painting up the #Khymaera Death Dealers from #Warmachine! :3 I like how the enamel wash made them look. I should practice more with those #VillianyInk enamels :D #Miniatures #Painting

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 21/02/2026

been working on some #Khymaera Death Dealers lately. they're nearly done except for the basing. tried using some of the new #Vallejo true metallic metals paints and tried to do some highlights with it. still a lot of practice needed but it's a start! #Warmachine #miniatures #painting

Played a game of #Warmachine at my FLGS last night :D It was the new 'High Stakes' #SR2026 scenario. Nyxyan & friends were getting pretty well rocked during the defender's 2nd turn (I was the attacker) but they left Yana, their warcaster, exposed & I burned her down with lots of Howling Flames :3

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 28/01/2026

TFW you're at work, no work is coming into your queue, & you could be home & painting minis during downtime instead. :c I miss my work from home days; the higher ups decided to revoke all remote agreements last July & so now we just kinda take up space when there's nothing going on. :c

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 27/01/2026

Nyxyan the Stygian Coil has been up on my painting handle recently :3 Still have to do her base but I think otherwise she's good to go :D These are supposedly HDR pics but it's so blurry. Maybe my camera is just bad? 🤔 #warmachine #miniature #painting

Okay, pretty much finished with this guy :3 Still need to do the base. Also still can't figure out good light for photographing :o #warmachine #miniature #painting

010

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 23/01/2026

Some #miniarure #painting! A wraithwing paragon from #warmachine :D Still finishing up the base coating and then it needs some washes and highlights but it's a start! :3 Still need to get better at mini photography :'3

041

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 16/01/2026

H'ok, applied some dark wash to antique it up a bit and some rust to the steel bits for more je ne sais rust. Not a huge change from before but certainly looks more weathered I think :3 Base still needs a tuft or two. #TrenchCrusade #miniature #painting

Think I'm finished with Sin Buddy here. I need to touch up the base more and add a couple tufts or some such. But all in all pretty happy with how he turned out. I still need to get better at photographing though! The colours aren't nearly so stark in person. #miniature #painting #TrenchCrusade

Working on painting up Mr. Sins here from #TrenchCrusade :D So far I've only put some #P3 Molten Bronze paint. Really digging the colour :3 I need to finish up all the base coats & then I can start grunging it up with some #ArmyPainter Verdigris & some #VillainyInk Goon's Grime & Carrion Crimson :3

Recently I've had a time trying to figure out when I'd be able to get some minis primed. Plus I just received the #Khymaera #Warmachine auxiliary box on Sunday. Yesterday was finally open & the wind light & I got those & some #TrenchCrusade minis primed & ready for painting :D #miniature #painting

So maybe a melee build for Hydrix 🤔 Painted up a few more options for Hydrix here. Like the toothy maw and the blockheads. Also some pretty butterfly wings! ❤️ #Warmachine #miniature #painting

Warmachine warbeast Hydrix in a pearlescent gold with tan and dark metallic accents. Equipped with wings, 2 blockhead heads, and the toothy maw.

More #Warmachine painting! Here is my first unit of cinderbacks. I tried using some #TurboDork on them to give an interesting metallic shine to their backs. Still need to improve at highlighting! But they turned out pretty okay I think :3 #miniature #painting

Went to paint night at my flgs last night! It was an off week due to the upcoming holiday so it was a pretty small crowd. Still a good time! Painted up this Spinner and tried to work on my highlighting. Particularly on the robes. I think it came out okay! :3 #warmachine #miniature #painting

More #infinity painting done! The JSA folks from the Start Here box today. Still have to do their bases but so far so good I feel :3 #miniature #painting

Realized last night that I hadn't done the base for my warlock yet for the upcoming league! Whoops! So I got her taken care of. Here's the whole group for week 1 of the journeyman league! #warmachine #painting #miniature

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 15/11/2025

Based my beasties! Used #akinteraxtive 'muddy ground' texture paste for some more texture for a swampy look (not that Hydrix's base left a lot of room for it :p) #warmachine #miniature #painting

0142

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 13/11/2025

More painting! Painted up some warbeasts for the #warmachine journeyman league starting up this week at my flgs. I got some new pearlescent gold paint from #P3 that I wanted to try out. All in all not bad but they could use more contrast. Still learning, still a good duck. #miniature #painting

071

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 09/11/2025

Finished all but the bases on my PanO minis from #infinity! Still have to work on my brush control as I can see lots of places my brush strayed or bumped spots I didn't mean to. Practice is practice! :3

041

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 06/11/2025

Worked on painting my Infinity folks more last night. I tried doing some highlighting/glazing on the armor and pants. I'm not super thrilled with how it's looking. I might need to re-basecoat those bits and try again :/ #miniature #painting

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 05/11/2025

Just picked up some 'Ghost' brushes from one my local gaming stores :D I'll have to try them out tonight to see how they feel! White nylon bristles are an interesting look and it should, hopefully, get me better about not overloading a brush to the ferrule. Something I need practice at :P

000

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 31/10/2025

Went to this month's painting night at my flgs. Picked up a new wet palette since the old one was kinda meh. A couple more paints and a silicone palette too. Spent my time there working on base coating some #infinity minis! Still a decent bit of work ahead but it's a start :3

062

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 18/10/2025

Finished up basing Kyrrax's command cadre today! These are the last of the lowlands style bases for now I think. I'm thinking of making the bases for Shyryss and friends with a more swampy theme. :3 #warmachine #miniature #painting

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 15/10/2025

And one last photo of the entire group I have so far! <3 #trenchcrusade #miniature #painting

And the group shot! Swapped out to a black backdrop and tried doing some photo editing to bring out the colours better. :3 #trenchcrusade #miniature #painting

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 15/10/2025

Based the rest of my #trenchcrusade minis! I think the bases on these came out better than the thralls; at least the rustiness of the mud seems more apparent :3 #miniature #painting

Mal Winters @malwinters.bsky.social · 14/10/2025

More basing today. #trenchcrusade this time! :3 Just look at these friends! #miniature #painting
