Grain of salt — I specifically focused on performance for this update — but I recently converted my portfolio (malstrom.me) from Astro to Remix and managed to achieve better lighthouse scores for all of my poorest performing pages
Screenshot of an Oh My Pi terminal chat showing a Lighthouse mobile performance comparison between a production Astro site and a Remix preview. A table lists several pages with Lighthouse scores, LCP times, and transfer sizes. Remix performs better on every highlighted page: /about improves from 90, 3.6 s, 482 KB to 99, 1.9 s, 218 KB; /blog/talks from 94, 2.4 s, 1263 KB to 100, 1.5 s, 324 KB; /blog/learning-remix-3 from 82, 4.4 s, 620 KB to 96, 2.2 s, 293 KB; and /blog/mexico-city from 75, 16.9 s, 32 MB to 98, 2.4 s, 4.5 MB. Six other pages score 99–100 in production and 100 in preview.

New blog post on zena-lang.dev: Designing a Programming Language for the AI Era zena-lang.dev/blog/2026/09... Includes why I think a language good for humans and WebAssembly is good for AI, and why Zena is a project that's optimistic that humans have a place in software development.

We’re rewriting the Angular compiler in Rust (partially)! Meet ngp (Angular Preprocessor): a hybrid compiler decoupling our transforms from TypeScript using Oxc, readying Angular for TypeScript 7 & native tooling. Read the deep dive: medium.com/@angularteam... 🛠️

They could stop development with Opus 5.5 and I'm pretty sure I'd be happy with it for the rest of my life. Give me a model of this intelligence I can run locally on my phone and I'll never ask for anything ever again

I don’t know exactly when it happened, but at some point over the last 9 months I stopped worrying about if an agent would be able to start a dev server and background the long-running process without getting stuck.

I'm a little confused by the location requirements on these postings. Do you know why it's hybrid, but exclusive to the listed office locations and not "any Cloudflare office"?

New Pitlane package: @pitlane/content! This is a content layer similar to Astro’s, designed with the Remix philosophy in mind. It works in both Vite and no-build setups and enables you to easily manage, query, and render content files (Markdown, MDX, JSON, YAML, etc.) in your Remix app.

Here it is! You can declare arbitrary semantic rules in json and it will warn or error when ran! Primarily designed for CLI or agent use but there is also a simple VSCode plugin I'll work on more later. a 20k line rust project costs well under a cent. Please file issues if something is wrong!

I think this completely changes the way I'm thinking about app sync primitives going forward… Especially for CRUD apps. This is probably a better solution than Convex- or Firebase-style "app databases".

Trying out Zen after finding out that Chromium doesn't support Apple Passwords (in the process of switching from 1P). So far, it's everything I loved from Arc except for Gecko, which is definitely lagging on some of the more fun features I've been experimenting with (e.g. custom <select>s)

Beyond that, I just have no desire for more phone (ideally I'd be able to get rid of my phone altogether in favor of a smart watch and smart glasses) and especially not for a phone that has a permanent crease on the most important part of the device.

There are enough compromises with the iPhone Duo that I wouldn't want one even if I did want a foldable phone. Mainly the matte display and the super noticeable under-screen camera, but the old style sticking-out Apple Pencil isn't great either.
