Spent the afternoon with a bunch of the records on your list. Castle Rat; fun as hell. Henere and Nexion; I don't listen to enough BM, but these were awesome, Nexion especially. Noyé; pure nostalgia, cool that there's still bands doing this sorta thing. Secret World; RAD.

A bunch of stuff in this thread I need to get into. new Deaf Club LP came out yesterday. Not a band I'm too familiar with. It sounds like early 2000s hardcore, the floppy fringe and skinny jeans variety. It's pretty good. new Revocation comes out next week too, if tech-death is your jam.

I decided - just now - that I'm going to get super into Dungeon Synth. Problem is, most dungeon synth I've heard so far strays too far into cheesy territory. Anyone got any reccs for DS that doesn't sound like Super Nintendo RPG music? Perhaps less epic fantasy, more moody dirge? Does that exist?

100% agree. This sound takes me back to when so many local bands to me were doing this sort of thing around 04/05, but their recordings were always a bit thin and unsatisfying. Really great to hear this sorta of thing with big, fat modern production.
