I’m looking for something I left at my parents’ house for safekeeping so I’m going through tons of old boxes. I just found a Livestrong bracelet AND a Naruto doujinshi, which dates the context of the box to 04,05 ish.

I made 80 freebies for BTS in Baltimore, and I'm trying to beat that for their LA Day 3 show (my home turf, after all). So far, I've got 22 whale keychains and 55 "borahae" lightstick charms. I guess I'm going to keep going until showtime or my materials run out, whatever's first.

Multiple things can be true at once, it turns out! We need better road safety for cyclists (and pedestrians), AND a helmet is an easy thing any individual can do to make themselves safer. A helmet won't protect you in EVERY scenario, but it can protect you from some of the worst ones...

This is from 2024, but road deaths and severe injuries on bikes are absolutely an issue in the Netherlands too. From the article "The Dutch Institute for Road Safety Research (SWOV) found that if all cyclists wore helmets there would be 85 fewer deaths annually." www.theguardian.com/world/articl...

i've been seeing this critique a lot and i uh found the film pretty imbued with the threat of sexual violence without ever having to show it explicitly on screen. the women screaming, circe, the end, both scenes at temples of athena, the whole room of suitors as wolves barely restrained.

Maybe sit with why you were watching for and expected to see outright depictions of violence against women. I, and others in this thread, did see women dragged away, while their screams filled the air. What more did you need? And why?

Cat parenting is not like human parenting, except when the two cats are squabbling, and I have to holler something like, “do you two want me to come over there?” Or “leave your sister alone, she doesn’t want to play right now!”

My favorite fact about the Cyclops is that, yes, CGI was involved but he ALSO had a 60 ft mechanical structure built, which Bill Irwin then puppeteered in a real cave somewhere out in the world. Really made that scene so much more visceral and claustrophobic.
