as I'm going through the interviews I've been taking in the past two years with video game recruiters, I was reminded why I dislike them. I am wondering if we're ever going to address the fascism embedded in MBA's that teach people to say without blinking that "as you get older your value decreases"

Wow. The front page of tomorrow’s Charlie Hebdo magazine in France.
Underneath the name Charlie Hebdo is a pile of bloodied dead bodies representing US citizens killed by ICE. The pile of bodies are collected in one corner to represent the stars of the US flag and the streaks of blood caused by them being dragged across the ground form the red and white stripes. In the foreground an armed skinhead officer with an ICE vest is dragging his latest victim with multiple gunshots to join the pile. The world is watching in horror.

Reality is becoming a luxury. Before the Industrial Revolution, everyone lived with handmade things because there was no alternative. After mass production, handmade didn’t disappear, it became rare, expensive, & status-signaling. The wealthy got craftsmanship. Everyone else got the factory version.

Screenshot about go carting in Tokyo. I make some edits to better reflect the feelings of residents here.

DID YOU KNOW? YOU CAN LEGALLY DRIVE A GO-KART ON TOKYO'S STREETS! •

Yes, street go-karting in Japan is 100% real! You can zip through Tokyo's busy roads, past (UNHINGED) taxis, neon lights (OF TRUCKS THAT CAN’T SEE YOU), and cheering crowds in a mini (DEATH TRAP).

Once behind the wheel, you can dress up in (UNSAFE)costume. cruise past landmarks like Shibuya Crossing or Tokyo Tower, and feel like a real-life video game character. (NOT A THING) Just remember (how u would feel if a bunch of
totally unforgettable. tourists descended upon your city and acted like it was their
personal playground.)

Because there is no industry body that will aggregate the total number of foreign employees in the Japanese video games industry I have to do it myself. And that's how I spent my day calculating percentages and totals. Just curious, is anyone interested in the numbers?

Dear EU scholars, I BEG of you to also include the name of the country when you announce your roundtables and conferences. You can't possibly expect everyone to know every European city just because it's in Western Europe. Including the name of the state/country after a city is not a terrible idea

During the DiGRA workshop I co-organised with my colleagues on game work migration one of the best points came from Aphra Kerr who pointed out that migrant stories can be co-opted by far right discourse and that it is our responsibility to be mindful of that when working with interview data.
