It’s been a frustrating sixth month of development, so I’m just dropping by to share an exceptionally short devlog, which I think is better than posting nothing at all. There will definitely be a video next month! maldock.itch.io/monsters/dev...

I tend to design monsters and creatures, but lately I've been on a roll with humanoid characters 👼 #wip #angemon

They look good! It's funny, in some ways, they look more like my drawing than my own references do 😂

Me falta más literatura de lo que me gustaría admitir 😩 ¿Qué recomiendas de Poe al respecto?

I’m pretty much a casual when it comes to the Riders series, so, aside from the Digimon in that sketch, I was mostly thinking on the few Power Rangers shows I watched as young, and their designs made heavy use of zigzags and diamonds

Homology

Digital drawing. A burst of hands/forelimbs of a variety of terrestrial vertebrates emerges from the fin of a mostly unseen fishapod in the bottom left corner. The forelimbs gradually point more towards the upper left corner as you move up through the bunch.

Jason Anderson (UK, b.1970) : Tree in the MidNight Blue, 2025 Acrylic and oil on wood panel 60 x 80 cm Further description in the alt text 👇

Known for his unique style that blends precise geometric mosaic-like patterns with atmospheric abstraction, this artwork captures a glowing tree structure dramatically silhouetted against and reflecting onto a deep, midnight-blue landscape.

The painting showcases his signature pixelated impasto technique, utilizing thick, sculpted patches of oil paint applied with a palette knife to guide the viewer’s eye toward a singular, radiant focal point.

Geometric Abrication:
He simplifies complex natural landscapes into bold, angular planes and blocky, pixel-like tiles.

The "Glow" Effect:
By carefully arranging high-contrast pastel and neon tones, the central tree seems to emit its own vibrant light source, creating a stark juxtaposition against the surrounding dark midnight hues.

Textural Impasto:
The thick, raised edges of the palette knife work add a heavy three-dimensional quality to the surface, allowing the painting to change character depending on how physical light hits it.

Restrained Compositions:
Anderson creates a distinct sense of depth by transitioning from detailed, thick tilework in the focal zones to smooth, hazy, and sweeping gradients toward the edges of the canvas.

New design! It came together faster than I expected, considering my limited experience with these types of characters 😂 Artwork coming soon! #digimon #wip

Muchas gracias! 😁 Si le hubiese prestado más atención antes a que ambos eran felinos, quizá hubiese dibujado algo así con sus anteriores etapas hace meses 😂

I love this sooo much! Whether its Saggitarimon, Zanmetsumon, or Grandracmon, I love centaur-like Digimon; they're just so cool! I'm not even a huge centaur fan, I just like seeing monsters with six limbs for some reason. lol

He sounds like a difficult client; it's best to keep your distance.

010

Maldock (arco de desarrollador) @maldock.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

From the screenshots, it seemed like he had sent you sprites of the character, but I don't really know the context. If it's as you say, then it's true that he shouldn't claim credit for the design.

Maldock (arco de desarrollador) @maldock.bsky.social · 16/08/2026

I read your reply last night but I was too tired to respond. Since the previous client sent you a spritesheet as a reference for his character's design, it's not clear to me why it's a problem that he says he designed it.
