*For My Beloved Son*
I still see your smile in the quiet light,
a flicker between dusk and dawn,
where your laughter once lingered,
soft as a prayer that will not fade.
If heaven has windows, my son,
may you look through and see
that even in my brokenness,
you are the breath within me.
