maki @maki-kim.bsky.social · 17/09/2026ash 1977 gig. Day 1 in Tokyo. The band who I had a MASSIVE crush on when I was in my teens & twenties. They are still my favourite band of all time. 030
maki @maki-kim.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Fishbone is special: it's an all-black band my boyfriend first introduced me to when I was young. Urban Dance Squad and Living Colour too. He took me to so many shows/gigs. And we got to see their show tonight again after all these years. 060
maki @maki-kim.bsky.social · 16/09/2026Well, it wasn't quite the show I was expecting (they didn't play Fight the Youth and Freddie’s Dead). Their big hit was definitely Freddie's Dead. BUT… Fishbone were still absolutely magical tonight. What a phenomenal live band! 170

When I started community radio stuff, back when Tw**tter was a more welcoming place, Electronic Sound mag told me my presenting style reminded them of 'whispering' Bob. I told them I was honoured. Shortly after Bob Harris replied... me too. Always the gent 💙x 3242

maki @maki-kim.bsky.social · 18/05/2026DEFTONES in Tokyo. It was such a staggeringly brilliant show. Their new album 🐍 is excellent. It deservedly featured heavily in tonight's setlist, but there was nevertheless time for a number of older favourites from the last three decades too. 060

maki @maki-kim.bsky.social · 20/04/2026Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam, with only his guitar, blew my mind. It's been a good 20 years… Pearl Jam/Eddie Vedder was my first love of grunge. All things grunge, Pearl Jam always top. 161
