I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I'm a sucker for big, bold, impassioned swings, films, even if it doesn't entirely work. 'Digger' is a film that will pose a real challenge to its audience, who will be equally as likely to be put off by its confusion and chaos, or annoyed by its complete lack of subtlety. One thing is for sure - I can't wait for others to see it so I can talk about 'Digger' with as many people as possible.

It's a hard film to fully comprehend, but also to fully shake off. Looking back at it, 65 years after its release, 'The Misfits' is a haunted film, full of ghosts, trapped in stasis, caught between the romanticism and disappointment of the past and the fear and inevitable tragedy of the future.

From its animation to beautiful and important story about the value of memories and power of friendship woven with Filipino culture, this film is celebration of the people who are most important to us, and truly the reminder we all need not to forget those core memories of some of our most important relationships.

By having us tag along with a bumbling protagonist, we can follow along with the fun with more fathomable empathy. For this reason, it's perhaps not just one of 2026's most interesting films, but one ...

'Coyote vs Acme' is a triumph; just getting to see the film released is enough reason to celebrate, but then to watch it and see this beautiful love letter to the Looney Tunes in a beautiful, poignant modern story is an absolute meep-meep success.

For the die-hards, I'm sure they will enjoy spending more time with these characters; the callbacks to the original are done tastily and sparingly, and for everyone else it's going to be a fine time.

Like us, the film is too fixated on its odd premise but just doesn't know what to do with it. To the detriment of Barbaro and Turner's chemistry, it's a rom-com that attempts both, but the script needed more than 'One Night Only' to make it work.

It presents itself as its own beast, giving us something both entertaining and empathetically relatable. With a top-notch cast and lean, original script and creative action set pieces, there's a lot to sink your teeth into. It's the latest enjoyable addition to 2026's excellent box office run to date, and will certainly bring roars of both terror and laughter from theatre-goers.

With the release of true cinematic gems like 'Obsession' and 'Backrooms' this year, haven't we had enough horror tripe like 'Ice Cream Man'? Isn't it time we demanded more from our cinema-going experience? We have the power to vote with our wallets, and there are so many 2026 films worthy of our hard-earned cash. 'Ice Cream Man' is far from one of them. Don't let this brain rot give you brain freeze. Find something a little sweeter to terrify you for your time and money.

'The Odyssey' is an immense achievement, even with its imperfections, perhaps even helped by its imperfections. Not only is it rare to see a film of this visual and aural scale rendered with such grit and immediacy, but even rarer to see a contemporary film of this scale so uncompromising in its tone and so resonant in its ideas. Furious, chaotic, monolithic and overwhelming, 'The Odyssey' roars with every frame.

'Supergirl' is a really fun superhero action film led by a strong performance from Aussie Milly Alcock. It might not reach the heights of the DCU's debut film 'Superman', but 'Supergirl' finally gets her own movie, celebrating everything the world loves about her, and it only took 42 years to get this character properly portrayed on the big screen!

No amount of cinematic trickery can replicate the power of live theatre, and in particular something as gigantic as this play. Thank goodness, though, that with this initiative, we are given the chance to see something akin to that experience, shot and edited with careful consideration of preserving the work and crafting a powerful experience for cinema audiences.

'The Death of Robin Hood' is a lot: a gory, bloody, violent film, a 'Logan' copy-cat, a visual treat, and also a revisionist look at a classic character. While it doesn't fail at any, it never quite sticks the landing on any of these ideas either.

Steven Spielberg is a man reaching the final act of his life, and each film from him, each precious film, matters, and he is taking the opportunity to make these films his final statements. In 'Disclosure Day', a breathtaking film of immense heart and soul, he makes a plea for empathy, openness and understanding. He asks us to listen.
