subcommittee that oversees all the DOJ funding. And we have seen this as we've been negotiating our budgets with them. They tried to include over 50 anti-GBTQ riders, what we call poison pills, into the budget. And we, as House Democrats, were able to take them all out. But they wanted to insert 52 pieces of wording and legislation that would have restricted medically necessary health care for transgender people, basically allowing taxpayer-funded discrimination against same-sex couples, blocking any non-discriminatory and DEl-type efforts.
But they are persistent, so they try it through the budget process, and they can't do that. Obviously, they're trying to cheat by coercing these hospitals:

Oh man I loved Dread’s feel but I do not think it felt much like a Metroidvania to me - it was remarkably straightforward and didn’t inspire much wonder in me personally. I already feel a sense of wonder that I just didn’t with Dread so yeah I’m on board.

What are we doing here trying to trap or trick or bait someone into saying something? We’re both queer. We both want to make a kinder world. We might not agree on the best way to go about that, but diverse perspectives are valuable in every situation. I’d rather figure out how to work together. :/

If you don’t vote, political parties are less likely to court your opinion, because getting you to vote when you don’t nets the party 1 vote over the other, whereas if they get someone who does vote to *change* who they’re voting for that nets them 2 votes - because the other candidate lost one.

I know this is a controversial take. It’s not pleasant. The situation we’re in is unkind. Our voting systems desperately needs reform BECAUSE it forces us into situations like this. But refusing to participate in it doesn’t change anything for the better…
