Been on a bit of a woodworking spree recently. Today finished a picture shelf (in Ash), and a solid wood box (in Walnut & Maple).

Bench seat has its cushion and is finally finished. For my next project I have an irresistible urge to do some fine woodworking and make a walnut and maple jewellery box (mainly to test out my skills on something smaller). Let see how that goes!

Finally got all the bits to finish the bay window bench seating. Looks pretty good! Lots of storage as an additional bonus. Will order a cushion for the top soon (Etsy is a godsend for things like that - I can do woodwork, but sewing is way beyond me!)

FINALLY finished the sideboard in the dining room. It was an absolute monster of a project and there’s still a few adjustments (as well as finishing touches to the rest of the room), but it’s come out looking pretty good! Lots of storage too! :)

Making a big built in sideboard to go along one side of the dining room. Got one cabinet carcass done and just working on the drawers for the other. May start in the doors and drawer fronts on Monday.

I let out my whimsical side with this one and built a diorama with a shadow fox raiding the bins (as foxes do!). I know the scale is a bit wonky (HMM is 1/72, and the wall is built 1/36), but it still does the job. #zoids

After nearly 3 months of off-and-on building I finally finished my custom-colour variant of the Axis Aerial Dominator. I picked colours to give it an Eva Unit 01 vibe. Looks pretty awesome on my shelves. It's one chunky boi though - can't believe how much it weighs!

Shadow fox coming along. Just need to add some decals and give the final varnish coat. Might go light on the decals for this one though - just a couple on the weapons and head. Wouldn’t be too stealthy if it stood out too much. Got a special diorama all ready for it though! ;)

Here's my final Zoid of the year. I decided to be a little different with this one and give it a candy red colour scheme (even though the underlying 'Ferrari-style' colours aren't that original). Ended up coming out great though! #Zoids

My first attempt at elevating my models (a Redler and a Reddra) with a couple of new techniques - namely two different types of camo and a diorama background. Didn't come out too badly I think! Looks really nice on my shelves. :). #zoids

I have this GIANT guy showing up after new year. Lots of time to consider what colours to paint him, but considering chameleonic paint for a colour-shifting effect. Always open to more ideas though!

Finished painting my Liger Zero Jäger. First time attempting candy colours and I think it went well, but man it’s time consuming! I have plans to pose and put into a diorama later, but for now I will let the gloss varnish fully harden (it takes a while!).

One third of new diorama finished! Next stage is another model (to make a dogfight formation), and then to make the base look funky (like them flying over mountains or something). This is going to take months to finish though…

I really loved building this #Zoid - It just went together so smoothly, and wasn’t hard to paint either! Done in metallic blue & pearl, with gold accents and a graphite frame. I’m now going to have a rest from modelling until Redler/Reddra are released and I do a dragon dogfight diorama. :)

After the behemoth that was Berserk Fuhrer I decided to do a smaller #zoids model, so I painted a Rev Raptor. I opted for a glossy yellow & black colour scheme. Reminds me of an angry wasp, which suits this little dinosaur Zoid just great. ;)

Finally finished this model for a fellow fur. Can’t say I enjoyed this one - AMT models fit together badly, have decals that disintegrate as soon as you look at them, and balance poorly. Still, at least it’s done. I know it’s not quite accurate to the excelsior, but at this point I don’t care! ;)

I knew when the box arrived for this large fella that he would be a big project! I decided to use a few new techniques including rescribing some of the larger panel lines and using pearlescent paint on the armour. Came out really nice in the end I think! :)

Decided to go a little different in this one. I initially wanted to do a camo pattern all over, but there was tons of detail and my skill level was probably not high enough to make a good job of it, so I decided to colour camo colours instead. Didn’t come out too badly I think!
