On a pastel yellow background, there is a graphic of an anime girl wearing a magical girl outfit pointing at the viewer with the text ‘WE WANT YOU!’

I’m pinching myself because I can show up to work as an adult looking like an anime character and people not only compliment it, they encourage it! Just the act of going out looking whimsical made people smile when I ran out to get coffee. It can be that easy to brighten someone’s day! ☆

Heading back to our old stomping grounds this weekend! ☆ Fun Fact: Nia and I met at the Occult Bookstore back in 2010 when they still had a weekly klatch group! We started dating in 2011 and he‘s been stuck with me ever since 😋

Don't just talk about doing things, DO THINGS. Start local. But actually take action. It's so much better than being on the sidelines taking no risks and yelling directions at others.

¿Por qué no los dos? But seriously, like with any magical working you gotta actually support your magia with actually getting out there. Need a job? Send out applications with your job spell. My political workings always do better when I’m bolstering them with community outreach and mutual aid.

As contemporary practitioners, I don’t think we can avoid talking about how technology affects our magia and our conversations around it. That being said, I think generative AI is a huge issue in the magical world. Read more here: www.tumblr.com/majokkid/819... #chaosky #occultsky #witchsky

It’s more a matter of preference than anything. I don’t think there’s anyone out there who says it must be done that way. Some people suggest removing repeating letters and vowels if you’re using the actual letters of an intent to craft a sigil basically to begin to abstract the original phrasing.

I snagged a couple from this drop. I really need to start wearing mine more to work now that I know there are a bunch of Zionists that hang around here. ✊

Folks have said the similar things about Spare’s writings. It’s hard to fathom that the Grants actually made Spare’s writing more intelligible though 🫠

This idea contradicts the ‘results-oriented’ approach of some chaotes because the aim becomes doing magic for magic’s sake instead of towards a particular goal.

120

Lachan @majokkid.bsky.social · 22/05/2026

While most people tend to follow the thread from the Golden Dawn and Thelema to contemporary chaos magic, it also has important roots in Surrealism. Surrealism at its core is about communication with the subconscious and allowing it to express itself freely. 🧵

120

Lachan @majokkid.bsky.social · 22/05/2026

Sure! A lot of people view chaos magic as a means to an end—paradigm shifting and utilizing various techniques to manifest particular results—but it is, and historically has been, much more than that. 🧵

Lachan @majokkid.bsky.social · 21/05/2026

If you consider yourself an eclectic witch or practitioner, you may have tapped into the same current without even realizing it!

120

Lachan @majokkid.bsky.social · 21/05/2026

We have an opportunity here not only to crush the idea that chaos magicians are sloppy practitioners but to push the movement past only being about ‘results-based magic’. #operationoctarine #chaosky #witchsky #occultsky

The false dichotomy between science and religion distorts the practice of magick. Contrary to Crowley and many others I reject "The method of science, the aim of religion." Magick is absurd and needs have nothing to do with the dogmatism of religion or systematizing of science. #chaosky

You’ve just been dealt this card. What will you do? ──────── Operation Octarine Sept. 24-26, 2026 @ Camp Midian #operationoctarine #chaosky #occultsky #witchsky

A mock Magic: the Gathering card on a gray crystalline background. The title of the card is ‘Operation Octarine’ and the image depicts a crystal lotus-like flower. It is a ‘sorcery’ card with the ability “This spell can’t be countered. Immanentize the eschaton.” The flavor text, lifted from ‘The Colour of Magic’ by Terry Pratchett, reads: ‘It was alive and glowing and vibrant and it was the undisputed pigment of the imagination’.
At the bottom of the card reads the dates 09/24/2026-09/27/2026. ‘Camp Midian’ is printed on the bottom right hand corner. The illustrator of the card is ‘LACHAN’.

Having been inspired by mahō shōjo media in my own work, I’ve learned very quickly that most of the people I will encounter who are drawn to similar inspiration will be on the younger side and just don’t have the experience to determine the smartest magical moves yet 🙂

010

Lachan @majokkid.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

A lot of them will drop or grow out of the paradigm. I agree that it is maybe not the smartest place to start learning magia from but kids gotta start somewhere. 🤷

110

Lachan @majokkid.bsky.social · 08/05/2026

They are mostly teenagers, and a lot of those teenagers are angsty edgelords… but what early chaote wasn’t? While I don’t subscribe to the PMMM model of mahō shōjo work myself, the source material has a lot of compelling and well-illustrated magical technology.
