Two years ago when I just arrived in the UK, I found my book in the National Library of Wales catalogue. But in a matter of months, my publisher folded and the book vanished from the shelves. I've written others since. Publishing has ups and downs. But you are a writer as long as you write :)

Came back from a short holiday in North Wales to see this. #GoodayNagar came out in Feb and going by book trends, I thought it had had its day in the sun and now it was time for me to write something else (I'm already working on a new novel and translating another). This was a pleasant surprise 😊

The 60th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster is coming up. Wrote this poem when I first came to Wales four years ago. It's part of my collection #SkinnyDippinginTigerCountry. Profits have been put before lives throughout modern history. The cockiness with which it's done keeps growing.

What on earth is happening?

This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

Today is the 2nd anniversary of my arrival in Britain. The 11th Sept had the cheapest flights. I'm superstitious only when it suits me -- like believing everything will be alright because I woke up early 🙂 Wrote this poem as I lay suspended between Bangalore and Birmingham.

I blocked an ad asking me to donate to a janmashtami gou seva. So now, I'm getting ads to donate to build a new wudu platform in a New York mosque 🙄 I don't think AI will get the better of humans. It will just be as stupid, annoying, and destructive as us.

Found this beauty on a walk. It was sitting on the ground where it risked being trod on. I put my hand out and it got on without any trouble. I crushed a blackberry and tried to feed it. It wasn't interested and fluttered off into the forest. Silly me for thinking I could feed a butterfly 😅

I got 2 rejections this week. I have a decent sense of discernment and I know these are good poems. But I also know it is a highly subjective thing. The only way to go on is to keep at it doggedly. I sent the same poems to other (bigger) places 🙂 #writerslife #womenwriters
