Sometimes I feel so lonely. Living off here in the jungle. Other times I am so thankful to be more isolated And not have to deal with the massive amounts of stupidity and ignorance that rampant these days. I need my tribe, and wish I had them close.

The major brunt of Nolo has passed. Still some residual rains and occasional gusts of wind. We were lucky. Just so much MUD, no trees down, only fern-fall across the driveway. Hope there’s no more for a bit.

Still raining. So much rain and MUD! Usually our porous volcanic soil percolates the rain quickly. Hurricane Nolan - while thankfully not bringing lots of wind- is dumping rain on us. Even our ducks look like they are OVER IT.

I got my flu shot and first of 2 shingle shots yesterday. I had to spend the day at home today- nausea, fierce migraine headache, body aches, vertigo. Plus my watch woke me 3 times with abnormally high heart rates during the night. Is that a normal reaction? Anyone else?

Rainy day on this Labor Day. Nice to have a day off from work, just hanging inside with my doggies. Just booked a trip to Seattle in October to attend my dear friends memorial ceremony. I’ll also get to see my son and his fiancée and my daughter and her family.

Hurricane prep: gather up lawn furniture and any outdoor items that could blow around. Fill water jugs with drinking water, fill Propane tanks, fill up cars, get generator gas, get some canned food, pet foods, coffee and WINE! Me, farmer-carrying two full propane tanks!
