For a while we had two brindle dogs; one a Great Dane and the other an adorable mutt. Our Great Dane always had to have her Kong bone near her (the only toy that could survive her jaws) and, being a Great Dane, she always looked like she had fallen from a great height when she lay down. #dogs

Any time I feel stressed I watch this GIF of my Winnie in her silly antlers. Can you tell she was a feral dog before we got her? I can't either. She came housebroken and never gets up on the furniture. Just an amazing dog.

I took a pic of my Winnie trembling under my desk because the Thunder God was yelling. When I looked closer at the image, I noticed a heart pattern on her muzzle. I already knew about the heart pattern created when she curls up, but this little muzzle heart was a new discovery. ❤️❤️

It was thundering out earlier, and Winnie needed a place that was not as open but that would allow a view to the front door (it was nearly time for my husband to come home). Sitting stiffly and anxiously, her love of him overrode her fear.

They were buddies and hung out on a beat-up loveseat. Our Dane was kept in a too-small cage for years and developed a hunchback. She also had her tail chopped off with a hedge clipper. Despite that she was loving and sweet unless you were an unwelcome visitor. She could be 120 pounds of grrr then.

What a good doggie! Our Winnie has a note in her file that says, "Sweetest dog ever!" Every vet and tech smiles when Winnie comes in. She's full of love and joy. Rescuers (thesatoproject.org) saved her as a pregnant feral puppy in Puerto Rico. The pic below isn't altered. Everyone--adopt a rescue!

Andy (our brindlle) is around 15, though you'd never know it. His companion, Winnie, is around 4. Both rescues from pretty desperate circumstances (he in a Philly basement and she was a feral pup in Puerto Rico), they are a loving team. We are so lucky to have these dogs. ❤️🐕

Yesterday my husband took Winnie to the vet for her shots. Winnie is happy and mellow and adorable, and apparently the vet's office has fallen under her spell. The vet tech pointed out a previous vet's notes that included: "sweetest dog ever." Winnie is proof that every dog deserves a chance.

The space geek in me was over the moon (!!) when I read that Voyager 1 is soon to reach one light-day from Earth. I am so plugging for this little engine that could. Its biggest challenge is in 200 years it will encounter the Oort cloud, and likely won't survive that. Sending ❤️to the little guy.

I was showing people how to embed weblinks in descriptive text. I use real links to dogs up for adoption in Philadelphia. I update them each time I teach this workshop. Two years ago I saw this dog and almost adopted him. Look at that sad face and that ONE EYEBROW!!! Hope he's a happy pooch now.
