It doesn't. You're right. Part of what made this so heartbreaking. My cat reacted the same way at the vet, especially near the end. I never had any other thought than "how can I help him feel safe?" My comment was less about the video and more about not taking away the safety of the enclosed space

Fear is not funny and this broke my heart reminding me of my own cat but taking the can away is taking away it's hiding space and opening it up to more anxiety. Letting them be in a small space and talking to the them like you normally would can help a lot.

I have a dog that does this. I call it tappy toes. She doesn't sit though. She stands and does her tappy toes whenever she's excited or happy because she knows she's not supposed to jump but she just can't contain herself so she taps

I've never been one for full back/ face/ sleeve tattoos. I prefer tattoos that are smaller and less cluttered. That said, I love hearing people's reasoning for their tattoos even if it's just "I like it." I appreciate that you asked the question without judgment so thank you

I got a back shoulder tattoo after my divorce. I absolutely love it but can only see it when I catch it in the mirror or pictures. I do occasionally forget that I have it and then catch a glimpse and go "oh right! I did that thing!" But I always get a smile when that happens and remember my strength

My husband needs a slightly time sensitive but non-emergency surgery that i scheduled for him almost a month ago. It is scheduled for March 2027. We will be paying just under $5000 out of pocket for this surgery. I've never understood where the idea that we get health care on demand comes from.

I get that, and I do love being able to binge a whole season of something in one go. But there was something about having to wait for it to come on that made it truly special. Marathons were an event to catch your favorite episodes. Now they're just background noise.

I have 2 dogs. 1 of them has a mildly sensitive stomach and we are extremely careful to keep greasy foods from her. The other eats anything at all. I accidentally picked up an extremely spicy pepper with the carrot scraps I gave him the other day and he didn't even notice. No problems at all.

I've learned that a lot of people bragging about the number of books they read don't actually know anything about them because they listen to the audio at 2x speed while doing other things, including watching tv.

I was really excited to hear about the surge in adults reading over the last few years until recently when I realized that they don't car about what they are reading. They want the high score of books read in a year. They want to be able to say that they "read" all the classics.

My best guess is that people were complaining about the high prices and endless added fees so instead of making their own fees reasonable, the hid the tip so the total would come out lower without them having to make slightly less profit. A very roundabout/indirect form of wage theft

When i lived down south and had terrible insurance, it took 6 months to get the referral, I never got a scheduling call back even though I called multiple times and when I finally got in to see a regular obygyn over a year later, they had lost my referral for imaging and knew nothing about it.

I have also had cases where I get notified *at the appointment* that insurance won't cover it and i need to pay them now or go home. Most recent case of that was for a uterine problem and thankfully I had $1200 in my bank account that I totally wasn't saving for home repairs.

At this point I then have to call my doctor who opens a case with the insurance to try to convince them that I do in fact need to see said doctor. This goes round and round and *usually* results in my doctor's triumph. But I have been very lucky in getting pretty good insurance for most of my life.
