Life has been a rough slog lately, but tonight I got to see and hear Roddy Bottum read from his new memoir, which was truly a joy. Also these photos are proof that we’re basically a couple now. You heard it here first! 😆

Don’t want to be on social media very much at all, but just thought I’d share that if I release another album it’ll be called ‘Kristi Noem Shoukd Be Shot Into The Sun.’

My last work day of 2025 and I really had to earn every fucking second of my weekend. Be incredibly gracious, thankful and humble to service workers tomorrow or your New Year will be eternally cursed. ✨✨✨✨✨

This is such a standard heel-turn for anyone in the entertainment industry whose career is taking that it’s almost embarrassing to read. What a fucking waste of what was once talent.

This is also perfect Christmas song. The Weather Girls were amazing and, as a bonus, this video is bonkers with so many bad 80s visual effects.

No Bandcamp Friday for me cuz I have no new releases to offer as of yet. But here’s a new song you can enjoy for zero dollars! (Also you can go to the link in my bio if you want to buy my album, ‘Some Bodies.’)

This was heartbreaking and beautiful. I pretty much sobbed from halfway through the film until the end, but it was worth it. Fascinating, surprising, cathartic and beautifully done.

No real surprises here but I was like “Who the hell is Lily Nova” but then realized they are the creator of the two binaural beats albums I’ve been using as part of several calming/meditation rituals to manage my anxiety and grief. So thanks, Lils!!

This is 95% of a song I wrote called “Love In The 90s.” It’s about a multipart affair I had with a guy in New York that was off and on for a few years during which he wasn’t always single. Bc Bsky only allows 3 min videos it cuts off suddenly. Just like my relationship with that guy! 🤪

Kristin Gundred aka Dee Dee Penny aka Kristin Kontrol wrote a perfect album about grief and loss after the death of her mother. It’s an album that meant so much to me when my dad died in 2008 and I’ve been returning to it in grieving my mother. This is one of several songs that resonate for me.

Apropos of my post yesterday, here is the treasured Polaroid from the time I met Tanya Donelly at the last day of tl doomed music dot com job. After my friend interviewed her we sat and chatted about being in bands and touring and she talked to me like I was a peer. Total life making moment. 💗💗💗

So I’ve been in the belly of the beast of grief-induced anxiety and sleep issues lately (getting some help from modern medicine, therapy, etc) but I’ve been leaning into really quiet music for soothing and this @tanyadonelly.bsky.social song has been on heavy rotation. A longtime favorite gem.

It’s rare that a movie makes me furious for the time spent watching it, but what a giant fucking waste of time Barbarian was, holy crap. How on earth was this movie so hyped? It was laughably bad that I can’t believe the same writer/director made Weapons, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Absolute trash.

Someone should make a documentary about the cursed marketing meeting when every single drug company decided to use the phrase “moderate to severe” for every drug they manufacture, including Botox. “Moderate to severe lines?” Gurl.

Saw @sleater-kinney.bsky.social for thr 30th time tonight and it was as thrilling, incendiary, joyous and vital as the first time I saw them back in 1995. Carrie mentioned hoping to provide catharsis and, after losing my mother just 46 days ago, it was exactly as cathartic as I needed. Grateful.

A) This video will make it seem like I only wear one outfit when I play guitar, but it’s just a default of pajamas 😅 B) Does this sound like it’s from a known song? It felt familiar as soon as I played it but I can’t say from where. But I like it.

I think it’s important, in this era of untruths, to admit to our own illusions/delusions. So here’s a list of things I refuse to believe are real: - Bananas are actually berries - Sabrina Carpenter - Gooning - Pickleball - “Mushroom steaks” - 3-in-1 stain for lips, cheeks, eyes - Addison Rae
