So, the more I’ve been reading, the more I’ve begun to realize that I love reading things from a first-person POV. And because of this discovery, I’ve foolishly decided to completely rewrite @aetherealm.com to update the perspective. The first few chapters have been completed, more to come!🪞

That one person can drag us into a war without consulting or even notifying Congress beforehand, or our allies, or coherently explain to the American people why this is necessary, is absolutely bonkers. Reminder that Congress has the power to stop this.

On this Trans Day of Remembrance, we remember the bright and courageous trans people whose lives were stolen by hatred. Their absence is felt across our city. We will honor them by building a New York where every trans person can live safely, fully and freely.

i'd like to share art here but i keep forgetting this site exists and also despite (because of?) being visually impaired myself and experienced with a screen reader idk how to do alt text well for art anyway i made some potions recently, v fun. i'm learning to use my resources more effectively.

A digital art image of 11 potion bottles on a grey background. While they are all the same basic shape, they have varying colors and details and are labeled with different names.

My statement on the two year anniversary of October 7, 2023.

“Two years ago today, Hamas carried out a horrific war crime, killing more than 1,100 Israelis and kidnapping 250 more. I mourn these lives and pray for the safe return of every hostage still held and for every family whose lives were torn apart by these atrocities.

In the aftermath of that day, Prime Minister Netanyahu and the Israeli government launched a genocidal war: adeath toll that now far exceeds 67,000; with the Israeli military bombing homes, hospitals, and schools into rubble. Every day in Gaza has become a place where grief itself has run out of language. I mourn these lives and pray for the families that have been shattered. Our government has been complicit through it all.

This must end. The occupation and apartheid must end. Peace must be pursued through diplomacy, not war crimes, and our government must act to end these atrocities and hold those responsible to account.

These last two years have demonstrated the very worst of humanity. We must answer it by modeling the very best: a relentless pursuit of our higher ideals and an unwavering commitment to universal human rights.”

So Pages deleted all of my first drafts of Aetherealm, including chapter 7 which had 8-9 pages written already. It sucked. But then I started over on chapter 7 and took it in a different direction—finishing the chapter tonight and solidifying other plot points. Blessings in disguise. ✨ #aetherealm
