Now's a good day to better lay out my intent. I want to create a video platform with the specific purpose to host and foster indie animated projects, & also bankroll them into full productions, allowing them to be more livable and sustainable than is possible on YouTube alone. More to come later.

This is a damn good day to remind you all yet again that Dropout has had an animated shorts program all this year which frankly needs a lot more attention than it has been getting. New players in western animation need every smudge of support they can get & I want them to eventually fund full series

I'm not even gonna lie, the whole "Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon are now siblings" thing just kinda makes me feel nothing at this point. Not just because mergers bad and all that obvious stuff, but also because it feels like the equivalent of kings inheriting already starving villages.

The fact that Coyote Vs. Acme both managed to be somewhat of a box office success after all it went through really is proof that execs do not know anything about what the audience wants from films. And I'm glad it was one because it deserved to be since it was just great.

Hollywood and executives can try as they might, but I firmly believe that good films will always endure no matter what. As long as audiences still want more and filmmakers want to keep telling stories, they can never kill the art of cinema.

We creators could quite literally never write anything “better” then whatever an individual has in their own head with their own tastes and their own opinions. I think the sooner people realize that the sooner they can just enjoy what media exists as it is from the mind of someone else. 🥰

Aika from “I Don’t Want to be a Magical Girl” at three different stages in her life. Child Aika is in the foreground, arms spread and smiling. She wears a blue oversized two toned t-shirt and her hair is all black. Behind her is 13 year old Aika in her magical girl from with her hands clasped and a smile on her face. She is completely blonde with long locs. In the background, current day 15 year old Aika faces away from camera with a tired, over it expression. Solvable but requires a studio to not be frozen by analysis paralysis. 1) 20 episodes per greenlight. 2) Greenlight a new season based on gut belief in it, not based on waiting until numbers come in. This was TV for decades. Movies you can wait around for numbers, TV you can't. They're different.
