when it comes to a writer with a solid consistent view of her character i consider stern to be the definitive mae writer for her most important stories. she plays a big role in his death of superman novelisation too. i’m glad we got supergirl (1994) from him, it’s such a great comic

comes from lex abusing that desire for acceptance, so when she finally leaves him and goes to stay with the titans and go adventuring on her own it feels like a long-coming triumph. idk i think she’s really interesting, she’s just complicated and you really have to read most of her main appearances

how it’s a consistent plot from her origin to her breakup with lex 2. and how her naïveté fades away with her disillusionment with lex but her kindness persists throughout all the horrors she goes through! she’s desperate to be human after finding out she isn’t and a lot of her later exploitation+

mae was usually very sweet and kind, but she did have a bit of a temper. her plot is about escaping & recovering from emotional and physical abuse (by both her creator & her lover) and trying to find a place in a world foreign to her. she values honesty & tries her best to live up to clark’s ideals

i feel like the lone voice here hoping linda doesn’t return. i feel like the fusion was character regression for her to have her lose her independence all over again and i don’t like how intensely religious the run is! but all that aside i’m so genuinely excited for whatever you end up doing !!!

The "Matrix Returns" text was added without my knowledge. This is NOT Matrix, it's Kara with a new costume, and Matrix does not appear in this issue. Yes the image is an homage to Grummett's famous Matrix drawing and it was intentional foreshadowing, but I'm sorry for the misleading way it was done.
