I go to the PO almost daily for my work; I have seen my local PO refuse to postmark at the counter more than once (small town, PO stays busy) BUT... as far as I can tell and google, it is still something they are supposed to do. Just for reference if anyone faces the same issue.

Evidently good quality bedding with cooling technology is important to me and I enjoy indoor gardening. Those were my top two. There were a few things on there that made no sense too.

Treatments across the board for me are pretty similar. Hydrate, gentle exercise, PT, which I'm actually doing PT for migraines right now and it's pretty helpful. I'm on a ton of different medicines and unfortunately one med will cause a side effect that I have to take another med for. Repeat 😆🥴

Dysautonomia, chronic pain, celiac ... my husband and I carry a very rare disease. Van Maldergem syndrome. While we don't have the disease (2 of our 3 kids do) our Genetics team feels like there's a lot of overlap with just being a carrier since they know nothing about the mutation.

NC to Salt Lake City to Moab to Ouray, CO to Denver ... back to good ole home sweet home tomorrow. I really loved our trip. It exhausted me but in a mostly good way. Was so nice to see our daughter. Ouray might be a favorite spot I've ever been. But I wanna go HOME right now. Flight tomorrow.

Yesterday we got two club sandwiches and two drinks. $48. Today we got two burgers and shared a drink. $57 We are eating one restaurant meal a day and then the other meals are either leftovers or "snack-meals" in the room with stuff we've got here. I can't imagine 3 meals a day eating out!

Today we arrived in Ouray. Such an adorable town. I love it here. The altitude may be bothering me; I have a headache and sore throat (dryness). Box Canyon Falls was a great spot and easy to walk up to. Taking a tour of Ouray tomorrow. Then heading to Denver, and then home on Sunday. I'm kinda ready

Arches National Park was breathtaking. We took a tour so we didn't have to do a lot of walking. We are both 50 so we're no spring chickens. This tour was billed as a "senior tour" which worked out perfectly. My kids won't stop giving me hell for it.

We went to Canyonlands yesterday and Dead Horse Point State Park, which I actually liked BETTER! Very accessible! We stuck to the parking lots, walk-up overlooks. No hikes. And you know what? We saw plenty and enjoyed it just fine. My body just couldn't do anything else.

Enjoyed SLC with our daughter. I really pushed myself but we were able to do everything they wanted to do while we were there. That made me happy. We are now on our Arches/Canyonlands Moab leg & head to Ouray tomorrow. It's raining in Moab today - hardly rains but of course, when we have a tour

I went to a friend's camper in the mountains once because I needed quiet and some beautiful scenery. At the time I had small kids who needed a lot of caregiving because of medical challenges. Took a great deal of work to pull it off, but I did!

I'm GenX and live in the rural red Bible Belt. Most of my peers are MAGA, many extreme ones. I'd say most of them are products of their raising, their sub-par education, religious indoctrination & the bigotry and racism they swim in down here. But! MANY of their kids are not. We have hope.

It's almost as if every generation has skills that other generations do not possess either by will or necessity. I mean, I don't know how to cobble shoes, change my oil, or even sew on a button for that matter. But I can make a mean casserole, grow tomatoes, and do calculus.

Update: FIL met with my husband and told him he HAD to apologize to his mother (for what, exactly?) because "she is his mother." My husband responded with, "I am her son. I didn't ask to be born." Ooooo it made my FIL very angry. Typical dude from his generation who demands obedience & loyalty

And I had to cancel pretty quickly, within a week to get at least part of my money back. I feel like the airbnb host ran out the clock purposely to get half my money. Expedia didn't care. Host was unresponsive. I lost a little over $100. Oh well. Expensive lesson. 3/

The hotel room we rented in Silverton, CO that we canceled due to fear of altitude sickness was not a hotel room after all. It's billed as such, but it's actually an airbnb that contracts with Expedia. So exp said contact the host, which we did through the exp portal - and they NEVER responded. 2/

Travel tip: Do not EVER book a hotel with Expedia because they will make cancellation (even under terms) incredibly difficult and hold your money hostage in the process. Or they'll use the excuse that you have to contact the hotel directly & hotel never responds. I lost $100. That's a lot to me :(

Thank you. When I stop and look at it from diagnosis (they both have significant health issues, 1 with dementia) to caregiving ramping up - to the abuse allegation & our drop off - it makes me feel like I'm losing my mind. I'm a chronic over thinker & people pleaser too.

I'm sure some are probably like "there's more to this story!" but I assure you there isn't. We have ALWAYS helped, cared. Shown up. Stayed in the hospital. Dr visits. Meals, cleaning. But one Sunday we just couldn't come deal with Christmas decorating. It baffles me that's all it took for her...

I just really worry she will tell a dr, nurse, social worker, CNA, even her damn hairdresser that we abuse her the next time we don't do exactly what she wants, when she wants it. Maybe I'm harsh but she REALLY messed up falsely accusing us of elder abuse. It's not a casual thing to do. It's SERIOUS

I do feel a tiny bit like an asshole not caregiving. They have my BIL (their only other kid) who can take care of them. He doesn't live here and has never helped out. It was always us. And she's gone and ruined that. Sometimes people have to deal with the consequences of their actions. Harsh?
