Watching a couple of other people playing AC8's campaign and realizing I play like a genuine fiend.

Madra @madramimi.bsky.social · 02/10/2026

Switching to tonight. ISP sent a mait notif lasting until 4PM my time and don't want to get randomly cut off multiple times.

Glad Valheim is coming to an end because every time I try to open the game it hangs for 5 minutes or more before speeding up like it's an emulator and catching up.

Madra @madramimi.bsky.social · 30/09/2026

But 8 seems like it pulls together all the lessons of the lows of 6 and AH with the pretty good but flawed 7 into something really magical. And somehow it's most anime entry despite AC3 and 4 existing.

I'm fresh off it but my final very short thoughts are that so much of Ace Combat 8 is so well done in every department that's it's hard not to think of it as the best entry in the franchise. For me, Zero is the best distilled experience of AC and 3 is it at it's most experimental.

It was when she saw daylight outside at the end of Mission 28 that she realized, she messed up.

Ace Combat's music ranges from memorable bangers to JP drama vocal theme to servicable bgm. But EVERY TIME I hear the Satoan chant song I feel like I'm hearing the music ESPN uses to show all the big hits in a college football rivalry before the players run out on the field.

I will be honest: I made this post to excuse that I'm eating ice cream at 2AM.

I don't have like, vents (yes like amogus) in this place so running a currently releasing game means my room turns into a summer evening with a nice 89° and 76%+ humidity (I measured it once). That said, computer cools real good and runs AC8 quite shnicely.

Ace Combat 8 way surpassed my expectations so far!!! Even if it's just alright mission wise from now on I think I'd still recommend it! We'll see by tomorrow!!!

SK Japan was unfortunately cooking when they made their thoroughbred collection plushies and I kinda want one. They're crazy cute.

Incredible Facebook slop ad I just got

Horse pin with an illustration of a horse and the following text:
"Give a man a horse he'll eat in a day, teach a man to horse. and make him drinks water."

Lots and lots of schedules! Big schedules, small schedules, steam schedules, diesel schedules-!

One of them has the led bwoke and a fricked USB C port which caused me to stop using it but it doesn't have drift. It's also the one I got hella used!!! OK I guess!!!! AC8 and DD2 controller secured until I get a soldering iron for repairing the rest and replacing their sticks.

000

In the long run, I should get the soldering iron anyways due to how regularly I make repairs on tech. But also maaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Looking at my like, 2 XBOX One, PS5, and Nintendo Pro Controllers with stick drift thinking "I should fix them". And then remembering it's like, 80-240 US bucks to get a soldering iron plus 13-25 bucks for each new stick, plus more for tin and lead.

Somebody keeps driving a warbly ice cream truck in the woods and it sounds like sfx from a cheap horror movie in 2006. That said, I'll frickin' get you nerd. Stop coming 45 minutes after stream start and I'll run after you with exactly 5 dollars. I only have so long, it's freezing again every night

Someone redeemed this game for me and it's not sold anywhere at the moment. So I went to see if it was abandonware and lo and behold, a result. They made a version chock full of military ads back in the day. I'm about to be hit by 20 year old recruiting propaganda in a psychological horror game.

Half my usual speed now but it's okay enough for later. Dunno what's going on in the series of tubes.

Madra @madramimi.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

Net is really bad right now for some reason. They might be doing mait of some kind or it's just a local issue maybe. Dunno but gonna wait til tonight for strim. If still bad then I'll figure it out then.

Really enjoyed playing FAITH last year and it's super cheap on Steam right now. If you can handle a little horror it's short but quite memorable and I really loved the animations the dev did in the sort of, c64/BBC Micro era of computing graphics style. The vision sequence still sticks with me.

Finishing Ace Combat 6 last night was perhaps the worst experience I've ever had with the franchise. The Hague should designate both the lead writer and game designer as criminals.

Almost every reply to that post yesterday was a bot or, charitably, someone who could not read the intent of text to save their life. And also almost exclusively aimed at fu◇◇ies for some reason. No idea how that fits in. Anyways, exhibit no. 926485353 on why advertising on SNS usually sucks.

Currently like, 5 degrees (C) here. Mr Manager is regretting getting me up to let him into the catio. Summer was quite short and cool this year.

Made some adjustments to sound levels on redeems and subs, etc. to make them less intrusive, especially for new people. Will be doing lots of tweaks as I go and some bigger overhauls in the next few months so gomen if something changes suddenly. It may be temporary or permanent depending.

Lap season must be returning considering the little fella sleeping on my legs rn. Mr Kitty will almost assuredly be at his desk bed regularly again to hangout with me because the compooter room will be cozy and warm. He just has to put up with me yapping next to him.

I know it's because everything needs to be directed towards monetization and algos, but I would really prefer having a blog or website where I can read teaching materials like step by steps rather than rewinding YT every few secs if the audio mixing is bad or I simply didn't get it. Text is better.

Really disappointing so far. Really enjoyed the rest of the series. Even 1 and 2 held up surprisingly alright. The period of Assault Horizon and 6 must've just been them not having system limitations anymore and just not really figuring out how to evolve the formula.

Ace Combat 6 isn't terrible so much as tedious and every mission overstays its welcome while keeping you mostly glued to the ground for targets about 80% of the time. Very anti-ace combat design compared to the PS2 games aside from like Glatisant. And the story is, well......

More like hors d'oeuvre and tasting courses in their portion size and function. Meant to give people a range of dishes to try that fluctuate on a given day. Theoretically you do this to keep everything fresh and more affordable so people can have favs and try dishes they'd normally not (be able to).
